If you haven't already done so, try posting stuff like this under the fitness tab in one of those forums. You might get a better response...could take longer to get someone to respond in here.

If you eat less calories than you burn, you will lose weight, regardless of how much exercise you do or don't do.

Just follow this for a month http://www.realjock.com/nutrition/1037 and then chop and change the foods to suit your tastes. You'll learn as you go.

Swap the wings for a breast and the mash for a steamed spud and you'll be well on your way.

    Good luck!

For exercise w/o access to a gym... you have a few options:

    - free weights: depending on the storage space and cash - you can get dumbells and Olympic weights on Craigslist for a fraction of their retail cost.

    - weighted vest/other weighted garments: wear while doing bodyweight exercises like pushups, pull-ups, etc. for resistance training

    - Russian Kettlebells: start out with a one Pood (16kg/35lbs.) Kettlebell, about $80 inc. S&H from DragonDoor.com and a copy of Enter The Kettlebell by Pavel Tsatsouline if you are new to KB's. Pavel does a great job of taking you through the basics of proper form (very important)

I swear by the KB's - they've helped me lose nearly 40 lbs. and put on some muscle.

    NO!
Excess protein is wasted and not absorbed. On needs to intake protein throughout the day to fulfill the desired/necessary amount.
Look through the various diet post, a lot is constantly repeated. It might be simplest to read through ChuckyStud's posts on diet and exercise to answer your needs.
