When BF and BF don't get along

So my best friend doesn't like my boyfriend. She told me I was partying way too much and asked me what single thing he is good for me for.

I didn't answer the question right away partially because I was thinking how my new relationship was affecting my relationship with her... you know, how selfish she was being?

Anyway, I later said she's met him only once, doesn't know what we're like together, and thus has very little to make a judgment on how "good" or "bad" he was for me.

This brings me to something I've dealt with all my life: friends who don't get along with another yet are friends to me. This takes on a new dimension when it's someone close to you like your boyfriend and they can't along, for whatever reason, it may even be one-sided as well, with your other friends or your family.

I get along great with all my boyfriend's friends, they think I'm cute and charming and blah blah blah, but I have a feeling his family won't like me, being the French bourgeoisie they are. Now my family loves my boyfriend, but my friends don't really. I'm okay with that.

Should I be? Again, it's nothing new for me. I remember a spat between two of my best friends in Grade 4 and both respective parents of these friends thanked me for not abandoning their respective kids. I was, like, 9. It's a not a new position to be stuck in the middle of feuds, or even to try and quell them.

So how many have experiences like this?

If she is really your best friend and the connection between you is like family, she deserves an honest answer.
If you can't think of an answer, she's right.
