So, here is the deal; Im an athletic male, presently dating a seriously great guy... Generally, I'm a pretty stylish, sophisticated guy, but I often go without deodorant, if I have a choice.. I'm a very clean guy, use a little good cologne most of the time. Personally, I think I naturally smell like sandlewood & honey...I have gotten backup intel to support this.
How many of you men dig the way you smell & what's the opinion on the issue?

    P.S...
I see nothing wrong with a clean man smelling like a man. The purpose of cologne & perfume is to act like artificial pheromones, so why not use a few of your owe?

Yeah and I poop calla lilies. We're genetically programmed to to find affinity in our own scent, by the way. With most certainty others find it offensive.

So many people I encounter in town have such offensive odors that I really can't stand anywhere near them. Probably 90% of this is due to cigarettes, 9.99% due to perfumes. It's really pretty rare that anybody's natural B.O. is noticeable.

I knew this guy....instead of wearing deodorant he rubbed his pits with this natural salt rock...He claimed it worked great...it didn't....his pits smelled like onions and funk...he never smelled himself....Personally...I like a combo of deodorant and male musk after a long day....you just wanna stick your nose in that pit and breath in like it was a rose....BUD

Everything about the male form is sexy, even down to the clean smell you get when a hygienic man is sweating. However, I won't complain if they're wearing a subtle aqua-type cologne etc...

If you use the sauna 1 or 2 times a week, and shower regularly, you should be able to make it through a day when you forget to use deo or antiperspirant without offending others -- at least in my experience.

I LOOOOVE Fragrances! But I also Love a Man's natural scent; The warm, musky smell of testosterone is such an aphrodisiac!
I rarely wear deodorant myself. I only use it if i feel like it.

Like the OP, I like the natural smell of men too ;) As long as they shower daily. Yeah, if I had a choice I'd go without deodorant. But we men do sweat, and deodorant becomes needed (especially at work, or around people).

Anybody who doesn't use deodorant and thinks he doesn't STINK, is only fooling himself.

The human body is wired to be immune to it's scent, basically, as far as the foul smelling part of it, though for other people, they can pick up on the scent easily, if it's obvious.

When I go out, regardless to the bank or to work, or when I'm in a relationship, I put on deodorant; just a common courtesy to me. Now, as far as other guys go, if I'm in a relationship, I usually don't mind the body odor of my boyfriend. Why? Because the pheromones drive me a bit crazy, eh hehe.

For many of us, I think that a daily shower is sufficient. If there is much sweating, washing under the arms, or wiping with rubbing alcohol, is generally sufficient. However, there is considerable individual variation.

What's wrong with using deodorant? Prevents a room from smelling like onions

Well I haven't been wearing any body deodorant in since I was fifteen. Nobody has ever complained about an BO issues (intel info on that as well) plus I take showers regularly and I tend to wear an under shirt to absorb any sweat. Plus I dab cologne on to highlight my natural smell, which men and woman have describe as being 'salt water taffy' icon_smile.gif

But I do agree that people who have BO issues should wear some sort of antiperspirant to prevent from stink up.

My preference is that a guy, or anyone for that matter, smell freshly showered. Use deodorant too, please. Natural is great and all, but I'll take a fresh, clean smell over "natural" BO any day!

um, the smell comes from dying bacteria and other gross things not your own body order. so, keep it clean and you wont have a problem. My bf uses rubbing alcohol and he never ever smells (: i personally love the smell of a great deodorant.

Babe, if you need the qualifier of "If I'm in a relationship," you are most certainly immune to individual human contact.... You smell only Febreez @ Lysol
