Does anyone watch this? Three weeks in and I am loving it. About a month ago Towleroad did a VERY small blurb about a US show displaying a gay couple (white and Muslim). Since it is my research topic, I jumped on it. I can't get enough. I am addicted to the dysfunctional yet bound-to-overcome family.

I currently know no one who watches it. AGH!

P.S. Why do I have a crush on Justin Chatwin. He was Goku in the DBZ movie NOOOO.

    I made a thread 3 weeks ago--nobody replied.

I think the original British episodes are far more outrageous and "shameless." icon_razz.gif

    William Macy !=David Threlfall
and Justin Chatwin != James McAvoy

Do you mind linking it? The search function is only pulling up stuff about barebacking or anti-gay politicians.

And yes British versions tend to be better, but I like our "American" family. The "shameless" of the British verision just isn't something we known in America. This Gallaghers are.

All I said was, without the original theme song (with the wacky instrument), it's just not the same.

I've only watched the first two seasons of the original and refuse to watch the Showtime version because they advertised it as a "showtime original series... They write off character so easily over there- but I guess that's better than adding unnecessary drama/conflict.

...Did they show the neighbor's penis like they did in the UK version?

I've not seen the UK version...but I did find the US version only recently...saw the entire first season as of yesterday, and am now current on the second season.

The gay kid in the US version, Ian, is just adorable...though slightly more adorable in the first season!

Edit: LOL...I just responded to a thread whose last response was more than a year ago!!! Oh my!!! LOL

Oh yeah, I'm just watching the US version. I think it's really great, def one of my favourite series so far. I actually like Ian's coupling with the other guy more.

His "girlfriend's" brother? How long will the "girlfriend" be oblivious to what's going on??? ROFL

Season 2 seems to really be burying Ian's homosexuality quite a bit more than Season 1 did...but I'm only 6 episodes in...so who knows.

I have to admit, when Frank headbutted Ian...and then the family through "Steve" out of the house (for getting angry!!!)...that kinda pissed me off. I so wanted Frank to get his head stomped on for doing that!!! What a f*cking scumbag he was...and he never even apologized!!! WTF was up with THAT???

    Actually, they did.

Steve Howey just rolled on over...and he was all exposed. LOL

I just discovered the UK version not long ago. Found it on one of the previews to another video posted on here. I haven't seen the US version, but I really like the UK version. I cannot get enough of UK Mickey. If only...

I love the American version of Shameless. When I first saw the show, I was like shocked and amazed at how far they pushed the boundaries. It's incredible. My favorite character is definitely Fiona since she has to deal with a lot for the family. But yeah anyway, I love the show. I really need to get started on Season 2.

It's a great show. I've never seen the British version. Karen Jackson (Lip's love interest) gets on my nerves sometimes though. She's vile to her dad and she takes it too far sometimes.
