Im considering transferring to a bigger plant 45 minutes from my house. It'd better job security, a bigger city with more of a gay life but don't want to sell my house right now....maybe later though, then move there.

    Worth it?

My commute is 30 miles each way. But actual commute times are 60 - 90 minutes of stop-n-go traffic. Sometimes I dread every second of it. But at the end of the day, it's worth it. I love where I live. The people are great. And lots of amenities conveniently located by me. It makes my weekends much more enjoyable.

Fortunately for me, it's 12-15 minutes each way without traffic. With, it's 25-30 minutes.

8 mins tops! 45 mins doesn't seem like a big deal?

twice a week i commute to Montreal , its a 45min drive approx at non traffic hours.
I always enjoy that driving time as it creates a break between my two worlds : city and country.
and my gym is 1/2 way so i stop for training at night when i come back.

of course when i kook at my gas expenses ... gulp.
