icon_question.gifHello people of RJ. I am a member of this site from a few months ago and I think that the American men do not like to talk a lot with men of other countries. This is my personal experience. I have spoken to very few men on this site, but many men have rejected me, too. I want to know what think men of other countries. A big hug to all of YOU!icon_razz.gif

People, excuse me, I hope that you do not take it as an insult. There is only one doubt, nothing more. Thanks

Matey as a boy from Oz. I am making a few good friends here! Thats all I need. Don't need a lot. But way to few Americas have a knowledge, or interest, or want of understanding of anything outside of America, Here it comes from the few whom have traveled outside the USA.

So your thinking is understandable. Anyhow, G'day from a True Blue Aussie, from Dawn Under; Oz. PS. Out of the People here, One considers a friend. Only to date, one of them is an American. The rest live outside the USA.

I'd never dismiss or reject anyone based on their home country.
I will say though, that 75% of the messages I get from guys in other countries tend to be the purely sexual rude type and they will usually only get a curt but polite response of "No Thanks." Particularly if they immediately ask me to email them directly.

Other than that, I always try to respond in kind.

Exactly. There's always more context that is needed, isn't there?

Before I'd make broad generalizations about the guys on RJ, I'd ask myself some questions. Am I making assumptions about the way I should approach people that are incorrect? Am I assuming that I can IM people at random? Am I assuming that just because I want to chat or IM, the other guy must want to?

I simply don't accept that guys here refuse to acknowledge other guys, simply because of nationality. There have to be other reasons.

Lately I've had several men with profiles stating they're in China message me with cams on and asking impertinent sex questions. I block them...then wonder - I thought the Chinese government blocks sites like RealJock? I know they don't shoot queers in China as they once did, but that's bold (and I suppose speaks to the imperative of sexual want/need, but that's another discussion.)

I might be putting the nails in my coffin on this site by writing this but who cares. I don't think many of the RJ members reject others based on their nationality but more on their physical appearance. Yes, there might be those that reject based on nationality because they might be looking for someone to date etc and interacting with someone from another country just won't work. Lets face it, many persons on this site are pretty shallow and those that don't agree with me are in denial.

Obviously there are persons on this site who aren't sex crazed or entirely obsessed with physical appearances (Thank God) but I don't think Americans are the only ones guilty of rejecting others. They have the largest nationality here so it seems like they are the only ones doing it. They aren't.

Additionally, you have to take note of the "Type" of ppl rejecting you. Age plus a couple other factors are also a major basis for rejection, especially for the younger members of this site.

Keep sending your messages and those that reject you. Their loss.

I've always responded to comments from guys from other countries. I do know that the content of the message is just as important as the message. Maybe it's cause I don't have a pic, but I don't get too many rude sexually explicit messages, but the ones I do get I ignore or reply cautiously.

Actually, I have a lot of love and respect for other countries, their history, lifestyles and traditions. Aside from some Native American roots, my family was decended from Europeans. If I'm going to ignore someone's comments I'm going to do it for something more reasonable than their country of origin. I'm sure that people from other countries don't go about ignoring messages sent from Americans, merely because we're simple vapid barbarians... I hope :S

At first I wasn't gonna reply to this post seeing as I am usually a nice guy and all, but this is like the third or fourth thread (I think) that has had a "poor me,noone will talk to me" topic.

Now what I HAD writen was kinda mean and would have even made Chucky say that I was being harsh, so I erased it all. What I WILL say is this, get over it.

Not everyone is gonna want talk to you, hell I know this from personal experience. Some people only want to talk to a "type" of guy and others are just not interested. Heck some my not understand the word used all together.

Just cuz the majority of people on here are (most likely) American does not mean that Americans cold shoulder people from other countrys.

All I can say is just try not to take it all so personally. After all, what difference does the opinion of someone who you don't even know really mater?

Sorry if that sounded harsh, I might have channeled a tiny bit of Chucky there.

I`m sorry, but I`m proud to say that China is one of the few countries that NOBODY had been killed because of being gay in ANY period of time, unlike America and some other countries.Maybe next time you should double-check before post stuff like this. The only gay people get punished is those who were caught having sex in public places like toilet & park, and for most of time they would only be charge some money, plus maybe sometimes got lock up for a few days.

and btw,we are not blocked from site like realjock,I`m now living in Mainland China and log in almost everyday.

I think for many, it's just the opposite. I enjoy meeting and talking with people from other countries, whether it's on RJ, another site, or in person.

Guess the Chinese government saw his post! LOL.

So far, I haven't experienced rejections from guys in US, quite the contrary, I've met some really great guys from US. I think that reactions on emails or IMs are based on how you introduce yourself, whether you show interest in getting to know the person, or you simply send a friendly 'hello' email.
It doesn't have to do anything with Americans, everyone have their own preferences.
However, I will always read profile (if there exists one), before I email or IM anyone.

the only times i will not speak to someone on here are when: 1)they send me something sexually explicit or 2) i don't understand what they are saying.

as such, it is quite often that the second of these falls on people not originally from the U.S. that is not to say i won't try to talk with them, but if i can't understand simple statements for whatever reason (broken english, ridiculously awful grammar), then i probably won't glean anything from the conversation, and end it. to say that this is strictly because someone is from another country, though, would be grossly misguided. i have even tried (despite my limited knowledge) to speak with people in their foreign tongues if they seem to be having difficulty with english. once it becomes clear that i can't understand them in either language, that's when the convo ends. so maybe this is a personal fault on my part, but i can definitely understand where other people are coming from.
