Advice needed: Cardio and strength training on the same day

During the winter months, I can only get to the gym to work out three days a week so I've been doing cardio and strength training on the same day. I do about an hour with weights and machines, take a 10 minute break and eat a protein bar, then do cardio for about an hour. I usually run on the treadmill, but I sometimes row on days I haven't worked my shoulders and back.

I can see some bulk building up little by little, so something must be working, but I wonder if there's a better way to organize my time at the gym. Any advice from guys who are trainers or who understand the best ways to coordinate cardio and strength training?

    Thanks, guys!

Like you, I'll do cardio AFTER weights if I'm going to do them on the same day. I'm wondering if 2 hours total in one session might be a bit much though. If there are any trainers here, I'd be interested in what they have to say.

a low cardio session is beneficial after weight training, 20mins, but if you like longer cardio sessions, i would do it on a different day by itself.....icon_idea.gif
