How long it takes to get definitive size???

    When I was at the gym today I weighed myself and, with all factors taken into consideration, I figured that I've gained about 4 lbs. of lean muscle in a little less than a month icon_biggrin.gif !!!!! On top of that, most of that time I was using mostly machines so I feel like I can expect to grow a lot more in the month to come since I just started using free weights almost exclusively. I can definitely tell that my lower body is a lot more defined and I'm starting to gain size with my upper body icon_smile.gif .

    My question is this: about how long does it take to gain a significant amount of muscle size (particularly with the upper body) if one works out regularly with everything they have and keeps a nutritionally sound diet (conducive to bodybuilding goals, of course)?

    I workout every other day, full body, consisting of four sets of 10-15 reps for each target area (now using almost exclusively free weights).

    Don't worry about time. Just keep doing what you're doing and let your body decide the time frame.

    You'll put on some lean muscle easily within the first few months, but after that the rate of growth slows. Good luck, my friend.
