I think that, having been born only in 1989 and currently the ripe young age of 21, we live in some pretty awesome times. I mean yeah. Mass globalization, the INTERNET (and Youtube, Google, Facebook, eBay, Craigslist), smartphones, very prominent and progressive strides for LGBT equality and legal rights in many countries. Of course, we know not everything is great, we've experienced many great tragedies, notably 9/11 and other terrorist attacks in Europe, the tragic death of Michael Jackson...It's really amazing how much actually goes on in this current era. But all the same, this shit is fairly good.

I wish though that I could've seen the 1970s, when disco was at it's height, in the era before HIV/AIDS scare, the dismantling of the Soviet Union in the very early 1990s and the end of the Cold War (I was alive during this one, but too young to make sense of any of it), the East German protests in Hungary and Czechoslovakia that ultimately spelled doom to the Berlin Wall and led to German Reunification, the Iranian Revolution, the Challenger disaster, the murder of John Lennon. So much stuff!

What do you wish you could've seen?

I really wished I could live during the period of the fifties-early sixties, when people dress like Mad Men. icon_biggrin.gif

And being around for the first moon landing would have been cool.

You guys didn't miss anything. The 70's were dirty and everyone was broke and angry. Cars were big, ugly, and designed to fall apart in 36 months.

The moon landings were immensely cool, however.

(I think some of my Dad's old "Mad Men" suits might still be in the back of a closet in the farm house somewhere.)

I'd like to have been on a high mountain somewhere, about 13,000 years ago, watching one of the Bretz Floods.

Or maybe a volcanic eruption or two.

Well, I suppose some historical things that are unclear to me. Like the building of the great pyramids at Giza (I theorized decades ago that they were built from the top down), the execution of Jesus Christ, and a few dozen other things.

Rather, I wonder what I won't see after I die. All the inventions, all the advancements (assuming humans continue to advance), merely the next day's news.

I wish I could have seen Gilda Live in New York when she was on Broadway, John Lennon at Madison Square Garden, and Pink Floyd's original live show for The Wall. I was born a little too late though.

Well, I figured out how they were built nearly 20 years ago (a little late for me, but I had never actually considered it before). It's really kinda simple, if you force yourself to imagine the rudimentary technologies the ancients would have had. And to think out of the box -- the pryramids were built from the top down. When you understand that, you've got the solution. icon_wink.gif

The completion of each of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

To witness the authenticity (or inauthenticity) of miracles, like Jesus' resurrection or certain RJ profile verifications.

I want to see how the Egyptians built the pyramids. Either that or lots of hot men having butt sex during the Greek Empire.

1762, St Petersburg Russia, I would have loved to see and be there during the time of the assassination of Peter III, and Catharine the Great's coronation, the true peak of 18th century excess and extravagance.
