What on earth. How weird. Why would you want to trademark your name?

They're trying to capitalize on their names. I bet she and her daughter are going to come out with some sort of product line. That's the only thing I can figure.

Famous people trademark their name ALL the time. It's very common.

Yes it is common if they intend to make a lot of money off their name, and I do so hope that she sticks with making money and starts fading away from the political field where she's failed miserably. Let her make all the money she can, but for Christs sake stay up in Alaska, like Barbara Bush suggested. The lower 48 will be better off without her snarky politics

It's also to keep other people from making money off their name, or using their name inappropriately. Madonna had to sue to win back the rights to her name from someone who trademarked "Madonna" before she did.

Its a bit less common for politicians though, outside of campaign season that is... hmmm, could this be a signal she intends to run in '12... ?

Not in the sense that she isn't trying to trademark her name or that she isn't serious about it.
Just in the sense that it's fucking hilarious.

Wouldn't that be a hoot !!!! LOL !!!! We'd have a trademarked name running for president, and knowing her bent toward always having to keep those darts flying toward anyone that crosses her, she will be one busy lil dart thrower, protecting her "TRADEMARK". I cannot wait !!!!!

So, trademark violations at every "unauthorized" mention of her name. Really? Money chute plans from her bringing lawsuits galore for delinquent mention of her trademark when saying Her Name?

    Huh?

Every political ad citing her name will have to pay her royalties. Imagine the future of political campaigning--all candidates will trademark their names! Who needs PACs? icon_lol.gif

Tina Fey will just have to assume the audience knows who she is parodying-- "she who shall remain unnamed."

Did anyone read where Ms Palin gave Obama hell because he's not telling who might be the next leader of Egypt, claiming that he knows more than he's telling the American People. WELL DUH !!!! Seriously Ms Palin ??? read it in Huffington Post.

This woman's ignorance is amazing !!!!! Too ignorant to realize how badly she embarrasses herself, and sure doesn't help recommending herself to a presidential run.

I'm gonna trademark the name: "The bitch from AK" so I can make a killing off of it!
