http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0211/48868.html“I don’t think he understands what conservatism is all about," Santorum told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. "I don’t think he understands that Reagan’s three-legged stool is not just that we have three legs of the stool, the social conservative, the fiscal conservative and national security conservatives, but that the material made of all three parts of the stool is the same."

Daniels has drawn the bulk of his support from the party's fiscal policy wonks. Social conservatives have expressed skepticism toward Daniels since he said the GOP should declare a "truce" on social issues until the country's economic problems are addressed.

“[F]or him to say that those issues need to be put in the background," Santorum said Thursday, "I just, I’m stunned by it.”

And he's perfectly right, of course. To wit: the first month of the Republican-controlled Congress. The upcoming vote for the Patriot Act renewal will be a non-event...of course it's going to pass! icon_lol.gif

Mitch Daniels would make a good president, but he'll never win the primary.

Social 'conservatism' as defined by the republican party is that white xstain straight boys make sure all others are considered and treated as animals.
