Danlees, as a Chinese man you must surely know, that these public expressions of friendship and affection are incredibly commonplace in China and never imply anything other than friendship. They would be walking arm in arm and it still wouldn't illicit suspicion that they're gay.

Not anymore in our generation after 90's in fact. if two guys keep too close with each other , and neither of them have girlfriends....under most circumstances , rumours like they might be gay will arise.. it is true at least among my friends ...

Not trying to be the devil's advocate here, but I think I'd be more likely to listen to someone who lives in China(and probably raised there) about what is commonplace there. Danlees in probably more intouch with the current generation, and what is expected and.or accepted. Times do change, everywhere, and what what once non indicative of anything could be seen as more specific behavior now.

However, that pic doesn't imply anything to me, even here in the US.

If they were sharing the seat and the one in back ahs his arms wrapped around the first one and his crotch against the front guys ass, I might suspect something, lol. Although, I would love to see that :-)

Danlees, you also missed that his bike has a BASKET. The evidence is mounting.

Seriously though, olympic champion Liu Xiang doesn't even look like he knows someone's on his bike behind him.

Well, with China's one child per household, in chinese tradition familys prefer having a son, who one day will take care of the parents and pass down the family name. Baby girls are usually aborted. This is pretty common but doesn't necessarily apply to each family. This how ever will create more men then women years down the road. It is more likely that there will be eventually more gay men in China due to the fact that there are less women. Hopefully the Chinese government will be able to accept this.

I know there are a lot of closeted guys who will slowly come out once the Chinese government becomes more accepting of gay men in their country. So whether or not Liu is gay or not, we will find out down the road hehe...

I live in China ( Beijing, Kunming ) since 2006, and let me tell you, this is very common sight there, and DOESN'T mean anything at all. I've seen more than 5 people on some sort of motorbike, does that mean that they are having orgy? This pic doesn't prove anything

I always think these threads and rumours 'smack' a little of homophobia,

I mean to the OP, so what if he is gay, would you post the same if you saw a pic of a well known gay person holding hands with a women?

I know the thread is somewhat light-hearted, but do you not think until we stop sensationalising being gay, we'll never move on.
