Just Curious as to How Many of You Still Bank at "Too Big to Fail" Banks?

I know a lot of people who took their banking elsewhere, I took my money out and put it into the credit union my grandmother has been using for 20 years. Both political sides of the aisle have reason to be mad at these institutions and cease business with them. I still know so many people who haven't given a second thought to doing business with these institutions; why? These banks did things that caused them to fail, and had to be bailed out by the government. Why would you want to bank at a place like Bank of America, or Chase? Their fees are higher, their customer service is terrible and the list could go on and on.

Word out is, these banks are even bigger than before they collapsed, why do people never learn?

Sorry for the rant, but this country really needs to take some time to reflect.

I bank at a rather large regional bank in Ohio called Huntington. They did get into some trouble because of bad loans, but not in the way the big banks did. I have friends who bank at Chase and Bank of America and sometimes wonder why they do. I can understand the nationwide coverage they have but after what they did and how they sold us out, that wouldn't mean a damn to me.

And I hate to say it but a number of Americans are just plain ignorant! Some people can't locate Canada on a map, let alone think about what the big banks did just a few years ago.

It will truly be a miracle if we could, as a nation, take time to reflect on our habits and important issues and discuss them in an adult manner. One can always hope and pray!

I bank with a Local Savings and Loan, there's only 5 branches between 3 contiguous counties. They are great to work with.

I'm at CapitalOne (previously Chevy Chase). Once I join the navy, I'm planning to switch over to the Navy Federal Credit Union.
