I am consistently being told that 40's are the end of life. However, I am just wakening to the best of me. I am just coming out. I can't believe this is it. What is inspiring about 40 to you and how are you looking forward to your 50's and 60's.

While it is true that the gay community as a whole is unkind to its older brethern (I mean, really, let's keep it real), Thank God for Real Jock!

Never I have seen in one place, a bevy of just absolutely beautiful men over and above 40 but wait....THEY HAVE SUBSTANCE TOO!!!!

So dismiss the naysayers and welcome to the rest of your life. The best of you is yet to come. And that is inspiring.

I'm only 5 years away from 40, I certainly don't plan to be "dead". If someone doesn't like me because of my age, it's their loss.

It's only over when you give up

Though some may say " get a life" the truth is, that you have! Its not about what you think you've missed, in truth, it's what you HAVE. If you'd turned left anytime before, it may have been, you'd NEVER found the door! This newness is not bad or good, but what YOU think, and what YOU choose! So now decide YOUR FUTURES light, and may you choose it free and bright.. For you HAVE (been blessed!!!)

40 is the end. No question about it. Which makes turning 39 a huge bummer, too.

Nope. I know gay and straight men in their 40's with such energy, good looks and confident personalities that I find it ridiculous to think it is nowhere near to "the end" whatever that is. Also RJ is full of good examples.

BUT I also know gay and straight men in their 40's that seem to have given up on whatever it is that they believed life to be

Which do you want to be? Do set a good example for us the young crowd!

I'm hoping my 40's will be just as good as my 30's and even better then my 20's. I'm going into my ages with a wine mentality. I get better with age.

Interesting enough I find 40s to be cool but have yet to embrace that 9 years from now I'll be 50. WTH!!!!????

I've always felt a sense of being grounded and having substance, however being in my 40s adds a layer of low tolerance for BS from someone less experienced in life.

The following is a shameless plug: Doesn't hurt that I can pass for much younger than 40 on a consistent basis. I'm debating when I'll give into my first purchase of 'Hair Color for Men'. icon_neutral.gif
