cold saidCaslon, usually there is a textbox directly under the picture for you to comment. However, if there is no textbox it's likely that you are not friends with the person who posted the picture and, under their privacy settings, you are unable to comment.

I think he meant a picture in a comment, not a comment in a picture.

Actually, Caslon, you can't post a picture as a comment (no lolcats as answers on Facebook, neow, neow, neow !)

You can't post pictures as status or publication (on your or some else's profile) only, and you simply have to past the URL of the image in your status box.

Facebook is not exactly an elegant app. And then the user interface is different from Computer to iPhone. I often can't type in the text boxes.

What Disasterpiece said. Not only can you not post embed in-text, you also can't embed videos or any other type of media.

It's an artifact of the days when Facebook was a stripped-down, minimalist competitor with the bloated MySpace, well before it became our social networking one-stop shop.

    Thanks for the responses, guys.

Maybe I asked the question wrong. Cuz I see others posting pics when they are posting on FB. How are they posting a pic up when they are saying something?

If you own the photo, go to the main page, where you can post new statuses. Click photo. You can load a photo, take a photo with your webcam, or create a new album. Add text as you wish.

If you want to post a picture you see on the internet, copy the URL, go to main page where you can post a new status, click on Link. Paste link, click attach. Post text as you wish.

I think you mean commenting in the wall section. If so click on photo first and then you can write text in the text dialog box that appears.
