The Donald wants to start a trade war with... China.

I'll vote for Ron Paul if he runs again.

I can't speak about Donald Trump politically, because I simply don't know. But I've met him socially, and he's a complete slob. I don't care if he's a billionaire or not, he's a pig. I would rather have a homeless person in the White House. Donald Trump has neither the class nor the manners to fulfill the responsibilities of President of the United States.

I heard him on either Rush or Hannity a few weeks ago, he must be crazy like a fox if he thinks we could come up on top if we slap tariffs on Chinese imports.

I think that it is probably just a publicity stunt for free marketing he is getting from this. He looks are Sarah Palin and sees that he can play the game as well.

The #1 problem with Trump is that he would want to be a dictator.
Congress members would just laugh at him.

Oh yeah, he'd be GREAT for creating jobs...considering he trademarked the words "You're fired."

I watched him on Piers Morgan CNN last night (wednesday).
Trump said if elected he would immediately place a 25% import tax on all goods coming from China. His goal is to make the economic playing field level.
Dell computers (left China for India)
    Applied Materials (computer chips)
    HP
    Hilton Hotels

other countries like uruguay, panama, phillipines are also reaping the benefits of outsourcing

I can't really see Trump's point as Trump himself wheels and deals with China every day.

    Trump and Palin?

heybreaux saidI read this and immediately thought of the movie Idiocracy.

Although, Mr. Trump is a good marketer and merchandiser at his best (so I can totally see if happening the way things are in the country, esp. if voters think he is a genius with money). Most of his projects were capitalized by his ability to blow really hard, not by his ability to create value.

I laugh when people pay hundreds of dollars to come to his seminars on getting rich with real estate. Yes, he is reportedly worth billions, but any forenzic accountant would tear his balance sheet to shreds; probably bankrupt. Of course, I don't want to be sued for defamation, so I am only basing my thoughts on this below icon_rolleyes.gif

    http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2009/05/donald_trump.html

I started to look very closely at him when his bonds on the Taj defaulted. Tax payers pay for bankruptcy. Read his wiki and pay close attention to the area entitled "Financial Problems"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump

But maybe this is what America needs? The rumor is that every so often he announces toying with Presidency as an ego booster, and then goes back to what he was doing before instead. Perhaps its just the marketer in him that thinks that people will continue to pay a premium for his wares if they think he has done so well, I dunno.

I thought he would go down during the last collapse. His entire net worth is more or less a hedge fund. He borrows in the junk markets and builds. His bonds often ended up in the product I covered. So how did he escape the real estate collapse? I'm thinking he has learned some tricks to extract his wealth and protect it from the courts. I think he also wised up and just used his name brand while letting others assume the risk.

I'm about there with you on Ron Paul !!! Sometime you need to convince us of more of his positive side. Like I'm clueless where he stands on Social Security privatization and other social issues. H'ed better be a little more liberal than his son though, because if he isn't, that's a deal breaker.

It will never happen. Trump has the money, and maybe even the smarts, but he could never pass the background check in terms of his skeletons.

I like Donald Trump. I have read all of his books and own many of them. Watched every episode of The Apprentice until the celeb version came out, and I truly do respect the guy for what he has done as a property developer.

Die hard Obama voter in 2012 though......

However, The Donald has some sense about him. She is just plain comedy.

Personally I really hope that Trump does run for president. Say what you want about him, but he is a very smart man. Instead of just writting him off because he is famous, if you actually listen to what he says he actually makes a lot of sense. For those who say he has too many skeletons in his closet... what politician doesn't?
