So I've never had a problem with sugar. I don't eat candy or soda or sugar cereals and i don't ever crave them or even want them. EVER... but chips... that's another story. I used to eat whole bags (the big ones) in one sitting. I just couldn't stop. They are so yummy. I don't buy chips anymore.

So my question is what is a good chip substitute. Something that can help those cravings. I always have carrot sticks in the fridge and that does a decent job but i was wondering if anyone knows of an alternative chip product that they like that isn't so bad for you as the actual thing

Sweet red bell peppers. Very moist. Leave the mouth feeling fresh. Satisfies the need to chew. Twice the vitamin C of an orange...for starters.

How about banana chips. They're crunchy, sweet, and healthy; they have everything you would want in a snack=D

heybreaux saidI'm with you! In college, I would have an entire bag of Doritos for dinner and could not stop! I still occasionally get the tortilla chips and salsa and run through them before putting the rest of the groceries away LOL.

Pretzels are a little better for you...if you must. I like the apple chips idea.

Banana chips have a lot of fat in them (alot!) depending upon which you get. The crunchy tasty ones are fried and coated in cocnut oil and maybe even other fats, the "dried ones" are not as crunchy and taste kind of flat, so just read the labels.

Oh...0.O I thought they were healthy, my bad=P

Trader Joe's Trail Mix, might be another alternative.

Dried fruit pretty much loses all of the good stuff unprocessed fruit has. It's just candy with fiber.

I am EXACTLY the same. Not a sweet-tooth...but chips are my guilty pleasure. I stick with low-fat/low-sodium/low-calorie kettle-cooked original potato chips...just potatoes, sea salt and oil...none of that other artificial crap. But, of course, in the end of the day...it's still "junk" food. Anything hard and crunchy (and salty) is a good substitue. Organic White or BlueTortilla chips (unsalted) with a healthy fresh salsa isn't so bad...or you can just resort to nuts. Almonds are known for their Vit E content (anti-oxidants) and Walnuts for there Omega-3 fatty acids known for proper brain function and cardiovascular health, along with many other benefits.
