I wanted to express my opinion on the 2002 film Queen Of The Damned which is based off the novels written by Anne Rice. Well, first and formost i thought that this movie was terrible, stupid, and a waste. Under the tragic circumstances famed R&B singer Aaliyah who was onto the brink of becoming an actress plays the role of the title villainous Queen Akasha. The problem that i had about this is that Aaliyah was not allowed enough screentime in the film to make herself known she is only in there for 20 minutes with one scene being in a gay vampire bar on the prowl for the vampire Lestat who appeared in Interview With The Vampire eight years prior to this movie. What i hated about this movie the most was the ending when the vampires overpower Akasha without fighting fair. Does anyone have an opinion on this film? icon_neutral.gif

Its a pretty movie to watch. Its like a really long music video. But its rushed because its really "The Vampire Lestat" and "The Queen of the Damned" novels crammed into an hour and a half.

You do realize that Aaliyah died during the making of this movie... Which is why she didn't have a lot of screen time... icon_neutral.gif

Personally, I love the movie. Yeah its not on par with the books, but it was entertaining if you're into stuff like that.

It's true that the way Akasha died was kinda sad, and you felt bad for her, but on the other hand, she (the character) was psychotic and wanted to kill every single human. And the others "had" to gang up on her just to take her down.

Fairness has no meaning in war. It's kill or be killed essentially. icon_twisted.gif
