It looks like I'm going to be in an Aircast on my right foot for 4-6 weeks.

For those of you who have injured a foot...

How have you stayed fit during the time your foot has been fucked up?

What kind of cardio have you done?

    Anything novel?

It depends on the injury. You need to ask your doctor and/or PT.

Sometimes you just need to veg until the healing process is done, then start over.

When I fractured my foot in high school due to a hurdling mishap, water therapy helped out soo much. Good thing I was on the swim team because I wouldn't have had the access to the pool and the workouts that got me through the worst 3 weeks ever in my sports career. I learned ways to swim efficiently without injuring my foot any further. But as stated before ask your doctor, most likely they'll say its a good idea to keep in shape/moving for that time

Walking with crutches can be a good cardio work out in itself. I decided to go to the mall one time after I broke my foot and was on crutches. I was exhausted when I got back into the car!! icon_biggrin.gif

In DEC 2008, I broke my left tibia just above the ankle and dislocated the ankle both ways. There is nothing you will be doing for a while. You just wait until physical therapy and you will realize how limited you will be until you recover. Do the right thing...rest and recuperate.
