hey i was just there in nov. its kinda funny the main gay bars are all next to each other. Theres JR's and across the street is Mining Company. Mining company is darker and a little older but has 2 hot dancers in back. JRs is brighter and mixed crowd. then right next door is South Beach, hte gay club.

theres also a free shuttle that goes from there to Meteor which is another bar that has wet dancers. i dont think it gets busy till later though.

i liked it actually. im from ny and its a different vibe i think. not a fan of the ny bars

    have fun!

That's in the Montrose section, the "gay ghetto" of Houston. A number of gay places along Pacific Street and side streets. Lots of clubs within a few blocks of each other. "Ripcord" if you like leather, and about half a dozen other places. I used to like Rich's when I lived there, which is downtown, but it's gone through some changes, not as largely gay as it was previously.

Dude ur coming for Rodeo. Its a blast and one of the greatest events in the whole country. By far the top rodeo/concert season anywhere in the world (if you like country music). LIke everyone else has said look into going to Montrose area, if your looking for something to do during the day hit up Hermann park and enjoy our beautiful march weather.

I dont know if theres a rodeo... I know my friend said it was the cookoff or something like where a bunch a people set up huge white tents and party more than cook.. Im going to be there on the 25th-28th so if thats when the rodeo is, then probably its the same thing.

During the pre-rodeo, the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest is from 2/24-2/26 while the Chili Cook Off is from 2/19-2/20. Either way, you will enjoy the delicious food offered there.
