Am I the only one who thinks it's silly when someone addresses you as a "stud"? It feels like a cheesy pick up line. Makes me laugh more than anything.

I'd rather be called "stud" then the oh so prevalent Miami salutations: "papi", "papo", "papa" etc.

For me you can call me anything you want, so as long as I know that the chosen word, to you, was a sincere way of expressing affection. Call me stud, honey, sweety, cutie, or whatever! if by expressing it to others it makes you feel good then that is all that matters. Happy Valentine's Day sweety!

I don't mind it. Assuming I find the person saying it attractive.

I much prefer it to 'babe', which is personally too fem and familiar a title for my ears to withstand and accept without cringing.

    Just being honest. (SHRUGS)

I agree! but keep in mind that to many hispanics (not all of course) that is meant as a salutation of endearment and affection to whom it is directed to, and far from being disrespectful or rude!

Same here... of course it depends a little on the guy calling me "stud".

"Babe" is a bit cringeworthy unless we've been together for a bit.

"Stud" is good, as are "jock," man," "bud," "big guy," bro," "kat," "sexy," "hottie," "babe," "baby," and similar iterations. I like to use "jockstud" and "jockboy" just to pump it up a little. "Ass," "asshole," trolip," "fuckwad," "cumwhore," "scumbucket," "dingdong," and similar iterations are reserved for those who do not deserve the more desirable names.

Yeah about the same when you meet someone, they know your name but they keep calling you "bud".

I find it incredibly cheesy as well, and somewhat annoying; my name isn't "stud", "cutie", "sexy", so stop calling me that.

I find it rather sexy, when used in the right context; i.e.. A goodlooking stranger, or by my bf, before, during, or after sex..

I kind of like it when I get called 'stud' as part of an everyday greeting ("Hey stud," etc.). It's no different than being called 'handsome' or any other compliment.

Yeah, I agree to this post. It's only one of MANY words that people use to greet someone.
HOWEVER, I had one guy, with whom I was VERY close, call me "Bubba".
At first, I thought it was cute...but then I found out he uses that term far too loosely, so I ask him NOT to call me Bubba anymore...too impersonal.

I world accept "hey stud" over the random woofs and growls that I usually get thrown at me. At least with "hey stud," I know they individual can produce words! icon_evil.gif
