is there anyone out there that really 'gets you'?

I was thinking about this today...I spend my whole day interviewing candidates, asking tons of questions and trying to figure out what place they have at my company. Basically, I invest myself in these candidates and try to 'get them'

So I was thinking about the parallels that come with that and my life. It sounds so appealing for someone to personally come in my life and actually get who I am. Still waiting on it though!

Is anyone else in the same boat as me? Or have I had one too many glasses of wine? icon_confused.gif

My best friend (and once in a while f-bud) gets me more than anyone else I know that isn't related to me. We can be apart for months (not chatting, socializing, etc.) and when I or he calls, it's like we've seen each other just the day before. We can also criticize each other about anything, and not get "butt-hurt" (as some on here would say, lol).

I've been told before that " I get what your about" and then when I hear what they think is me, I'm like, HUH?..... Projectionicon_rolleyes.gif

Only my twin, but that's to be expected I suppose. I never even have to open my mouth, he always knows what Im thinking, how Im feeling, whats on my mind, and always knows exactly what to say and how to fix it.

I find most people actually get me pretty well... But I think the reason is not that i am easy to get, but that I am very good at explaining myself in ways that are clear to most people.... it was always one of my stronger points as a teacher...

I actually cant recall ever not having been understood at all... sometimes misunderstood due to cultural differences... but never just not understood at all... I think I am easy to understand

My best friend knows me inside & out. Knows what's on my mind before the words even leave my lips.

In high school I had a friend that didn't necessarily "get me" so much as he was perceptive as hell.

It scared the bejesus out of me that he'd out me. When I did finally come out to him, he said, word for word, exactly what I was thinking about the situation.

oddly enough...my boss. We've worked together for over 4 years and have been friends for 3 and a half. At first i absolutley hated her, shes your typical thin, pushed, pulled, tweezed, toned, and tight business bitch with the perfect balance of scowl and sexy, haha. One day i decided, look, if we're gonna be working together for 40 hours a week and be in the same circles, we might as well be friends.

Shes the first one to tell me i look like a hobo in what im wearing yet shes also the one whos planning a party for me at one of the best places in the city icon_smile.gif She took me to my first gay bar, cuz i apparently needed to get some, and we've talked business over many 1 am mcdonald runs after working late.

    I f'n love her icon_cool.gif

I know several people that think they get me, but really don't have a clue. There are only 1 or 2 people that I think really get me on most levels, but not in every way.

Most of my closest friends pretty much "get me", but my best friend that I have known since 7th grade (10 years) really gets me and vice versa. We know what each other are thinking before the other one says it, if something happens the other one knows why and how the other person feels about it.

Now all I need is a boyfriend who "gets me" on this level... icon_sad.gif

I think my close friends get me to an extent but with each of them there is always something missing in understanding lol, but I'd take that over people who just dont have a clue

In the throws' of life, stumbling upon someone else that truly "gets" you inside and out like a pair of identical twins is a timeless rare veneration at the least..

More prone to happen to the unsuspecting... Its like you ( yourself) but in completely different flesh sharing a bond of untold affinities inexplicable to all other people icon_exclaim.gificon_idea.gificon_exclaim.gif This is just as likely to happen as one winning the Lotto, if at all.. . Never a good Omen to bank on, clearly. If by some abstrusely surreal probability a dreamlike fate falls upon your doorstep, remember to lock the door behind you after letting it in.

    What a cool humbling thing to contemplate, love romantic mysticismicon_razz.gif . . . . icon_exclaim.gificon_lol.gificon_exclaim.gif

There are several close friends and co-workers that really get me.. It's nice to be understood, no doubt. The reason I responded though is I am not sure of just how many people I really "get". There are, without a shadow of a doubt, a select few that I sincerely understand- but for the most part I find people do very strange things. I find myself perplexed by the actions of others- be it complete strangers or sometimes even good friends. Who knows?! Guess I'll just enjoy being in sync with the ones I am!

Nah, I don't believe anyone gets me. Partly my fault for not being open or assertive (working on that). My best friend says I am the only guy that gets him.
