Students at the University of Michigan (in Ann Arbor) are excited to host the Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference (also known as MBLGTACC) for the first time! We are committed to providing an inspiring, challenging, and fun conference experience. Students organizing the conference are working closely with the entire campus and city community, and partnering with students, staff, and faculty from all departments and units of the University of Michigan. The conference launches February 25, 2011, and this is the place to discover all the details in advance. We will continue to make all key features of the conference program, registration, and reservations available in a timely manner. We hope you’re as excited as we are!

    Conference Theme

The 2011 theme, “Justice or Just us? Achieving liberty for all,” reflects a critical challenge facing the college LGBT movement today. The theme encompasses the interplay between diverse generations, identities, and the intersectional experience within our movement. The conference will encourage students to engage the LGBT experience as part of our common struggle against oppression of all kinds. Students will explore the complexity and critical necessity of unity through diversity.

Our goal for MBGLTACC 2011 is to offer a wide range of educational workshops that cater to the interests and needs of all participants in the conference. With this in mind, we will be offering eight different time slots to attend workshops. We have also designed a system that includes six "Topics" and forty "Sub-Topics." This system will allow presenters to have more flexibility when describing their workshop, and it will also allow participants to easily identify workshops that pertain to their interests and identities.

After February 23 you must register ONSITE for the conference. To register online right now, click here:

Funny you should bring that up. I know some people from my university's LGBT center that are taking a bus out there. I'm not going because of a few exams scheduled this week, but if not for that I would have gone myself.
