What major holidays have you spent alone...truly alone that were pretty good. Just you and the holiday, no friends, no family, no phone calls.

Mine was new years, watched fire works get shot off over the river in New Bern NC and had a box of bojangles, fries, and sweet tea (of course). Show lasted about 20mins and then went home and went to bed, was pretty damnn good night!

All of them, for the past three years...except a couple where some friends invited me for dinner.

Um, except for Christmas and New Years, and roughly half of the Thanksgivings since I left home, I spend basically all my holidays alone. Despite being agnostic I still feel like Christmas is a big enough deal to go see family. Thanksgiving and New Years I pretty much don't spend alone simply because friends have parties for those days. I don't put a whole lot of stock in specific calendar events, though.

I did a road trip back in June/July 2006, about 3000 miles in 8 days. Loved it!

    Vancouver BC - Portland OR
    Portland - Sacramento
    Sacramento - LA
    LA - Vegas
    Vegas - Salt Lake City
    SLC - Seattle
    Seattle - Vancouver BC

There was a heatwave across the whole of western North America. Ironically, LA was one of the coolest places on the whole trip, due to the coastal breeze.

All of them, really for a long time now. Looking to change that on some.
