    ....Motivation, happiness, good will, whatever...

What keeps you doing the right thing, even when it isn't easy? What makes you want to do good things? What gets you back up when you're knocked down?

I would say mine came from my mother (I get questioning and logic from my father), and spending a lot of time exploring the woods and 'communing with nature" when I was a kid. I was probably the closest thing I could get to being a Transcendentalist as a kid. As an adult, I think it has had a lot to do with listening to and following my conscience and surrounding myself with positive people, experiences, books, websites, music, etc.

I'm wondering where you guys get your positive energy from.

Each other. As well, my Quiet inside.

..and then there's this marvelous song that I can't find the soundtrack for to post on here, but here are the lyrics:

Manhattan Transfer - Code Of Ethics

    There's an infinity of ways
And just as many people striving for them, oh
Who's to say what is wrong or right
Only we can judge what lies within us
    It's our code of life

So much is counting on what we say
So many virtues that we must weigh
Where's the light we long for
    love must find a way
And all things in their time will follow, oh....

It's like a wave of honor in motion,
    floating away,
    It's like an overwhelming emotion,
    one and the same
If we take the time to find it
We can help define a way
    uncharted

    Code of ethics, feel it
    Stand, be counted
Life is only what we make it
    So don't fake it
    Just make it right

    Like a visionary's dream
There's a cry for truth we need to know
Is it life or a novel's theme
Underlying codes we'd live or die for
    It's a mystery

Violence is growing, it's in the air
People are starving while others stare
Where's the light we long for?

    Love must find a way
And all things in their time will follow - oh
If we take the time to find it
We can help define a way
    uncharted

    Code of ethics, feel it
    Stand, be counted
Life is only what we make it
    So don't fake it
    Just make it right

    Code of ethics, live it
    Stand, be counted
Life is only what we make it
    So don't fake it
    Just make it right

Redirecting my fears, anger and greed into productive acts for me, the family and community.... good meds and therapy help too,
ex: fear of returning to my former weight before my weight-loss surgery keeps me eating healthy and exercising like a fiend....

The source of my positive energy comes from my near death experience a few years ago.

It makes you see life with very different eyes.

My positive energy comes from other people with positive energy and also my insatiable curiosity about everything in life.

    Plus coffee.

I think it comes from that inner strength of knowing who I am, what I want, my own perceptions of my self and my perceived worth.

    I choose to create it.

It comes from my own sense of purpose and a deep pool of personal resilience which I have fostered over my life.

Ultimately, I tap it from my Higher Power.

I get it from myself by looking inside. Its underneath my thoughts and feelings and I have to pass through those to get to it. My centre? Soul? True self?

My motivation in life: Leave the world a better place than I found it.

Life is too short to feed into others' negativity.
I really like the and features. If someone is consistently negative and snarky, I just don't want any part of it.

    Have a great day, fellas.

    Music, working out, awesome weather......

Additionally, I've found that forcing myself to smile, even when I don't feel like can do wonders for my outlook. It sounds overly simplistic and childishly naive, but it works...trust me! Also, the more I get to understand myself, what I need and want keeps me positive.

Books can help to. Someone said to me, "you will be the same person you are today in 5 years with the exception of the books you read." I like to read about leadership, success techniques and positive thinking. A book I just finished that I would suggest all of you read is "How Full is Your Bucket?" http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=how+full+is+your+bucket&cp=6&bav=on.1,or.&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=14516041044472901517&ei=7HFhTcecNYKClAfu-9j1Cw&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=3&sqi=2&ved=0CDsQ8wIwAg#

I SAY THIS EVERYDAY. IT NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME. EVER. TRY IT GUYS REALLY HELPS...

"May I be open and present to all guidance that directs me to be of spiritual support to others. And when I am in need of support please direct me to those who you would select on my behalf. I remain forever grateful that you so closely and lovingly keep a mindful eye on all of us who share life on this earth. So often we do not understand why we must endure what is asked of us and in those times grant me the grace of faith. May I always be guided to live a life of service that benefits humanity and the quality of my own spiritual journey."

I'm one of those ppl who find myself self motivated as I don't want to be disappointed by the misgivings of others unintentional or not. It's something I don't like about myself but w/ 2bros and 4sis I've learned to be Independent and not to look back as I kno what is currently present whatever it might be will not be the same today as it was yesterday or how it might be tomorrow... This best describes me.

I would say that part of what changes my mood is music. Whenever I am feeling at not my best, music always has a way to lift me up.

Lately my boyfriend is being such a support when I have not been feeling particularly the most positive person.

And although lately I have not been like the way I'm used to, this is usually my way to be:
Most of my happiness comes from a place in my heart where music has a good impact and thinking about all the good things around my life and all the things that are just not worth enough to get upset. And whenever I am feeling sad or upset, music or my boy or my friends are the ones who lift me up everytime.
