really gay? I mean, if a gay guy "pokes" a straight guy he knows through mutual friends(both straight and gay) on Facebook do you think the straight guy will think I'm coming onto him?

    I don't know, I don't poke. I don't like poking, I just like getting poked.

A total stranger and I Facebook-poked for a couple of months until we finally friended each other.

I don't understand the concept of poking on Facebook, and wasn't sure what all that was about, but I try to be friendly icon_biggrin.gif

Well, I just get really confused how straight guys relate to other guys. I might confuse their actions as just "being buddies" with "he's hitting on me".

I have never pokes anyone on FB. Poking is supposed to be friendly, but it seems rude. Would you really run around poking people in real life?

Who knows what straight guys think. Some will take it as a harmless gesture. Some think any attention from a gay guy means the gay guy is hot for him.

TheGuyNextDoor saidI prefer an actual email like here rather than a poke... usually when I get a poke and send a note back.. 50% have nothing really to say. Just, Hey... and what can you do with Hey?
Maybe pokes seems pointless to me because of the threads and emails here.

Stupid question, can you email someone on Facebook that isn't a facebook friend?

Pokes are pretty pointless, it seems to me like the poker just wants attention from the pokee.
