Anyone aware if and when Apple release the iPad 2.0 ( 2nd generation)?
Will there be much difference? Worth the wait?
Please let me know your thoughts.

Typing this on iPad with wireless bluetooth keyboard

The differences are reported to be not too great. One or possibly two cameras, FaceTime (video chat, but probably still limited to wifi), lighter weight, possibly faster processor, probably same resolution (not retina as with iPhone4).

Whether the differences are important or not, I also recommending waiting as the units are expected fairly soon.

One additional wrinkle - Word that another iPad is expected summer or fall prior to holiday shopping season that will have better resolution.

The Motorola Xoom will be out within days and seems wonderful too.

Also the Samsung Galaxy tablet, due anytime, will be all new and Bigger, the same size as iPad.

I recently bought the 7inch version of Galaxy and love this size for portability. The Blackberry Playbook will also be 7".

I'm thinking, much like the iphone, the version 3.0 will probably be the one worth buying.

(I did buy 1.0, but more or less because I felt I could afford it as a toy. It really is just a big phone - not a computer. Doesn't quite do any of the things I wanted it for. Except the book readers.)

You're welcome. Using Apple wireless keyboard. IMO better than using the keyboard with the dock as you can use keyboard with iPad in portrait or landscape positions and more flexible.

I'll stick with the current Galaxy Tab. 7" is all I can handle.

Since it's probably going to come out soon, just wait. Apple seem to release a new version of everything every year, so you can spend your life waiting for the new improvement or dive in and get one and know that on 12 months a newer model will be out.

That being said (and being the owner of an iPad), I would shop around and look at all the tablets that are coming out.

Poor Gizmodo, once again, won't be invited by Apple to the unveiling.

    Or tuaw.com, applerumors.com, engadget.com, gizmodo.com...

But, I assume it's still true that since RealJock uses Flash for its chat function, that you'll still need a regular computer -- or at least a device that supports Flash -- to use RealJock chat, yes?

Ive seen a few reviews and the hardware quality seems to be pretty bad. It doesnt even support flash(i might be wrong about this one) and its really slow compared to the iPad.

Dude wait, trust me, (i'm a techie nerd) i get bored and spend a ton of time reading bout all this crap, (and no apple isn't going to allow flash) you've already waited this long, you just as well hang on for another month, an get the new one when it comes out. To get old/less hardware when u can get an upgrade in a month for the same price seems like a no brainer to me

Its as fast a s an iPad, (that I can see) granted I don't thing the touch screen is as fluid as the Apple.

In terms of build quality I think its OK, the back panel is a bit rough looking I think but I can live with that.

I know its down to how you use these things, but with the Archos, you can plug in 1TB drive and work directly off it, I think that's a big plus.

Just google it or YouTube it, ull find a bunch of reviews side to side to the iPad, browsing the web is slower and the whole interface is slower. The hardware build is bad enough that even one of the companies that positively reviewed this product stopped selling it. It's easy to add more hard drive space if u cut down cost on everything else, not worth it. I'd prefer to spend $800 on the Xoom from Motorolla than $200 on any Archo's product

Read somewhere recently that iPad 3 will be out this fall although it could be a rumor.
