I could care less about the fashion scene. Jeans, t-shirts, some kind of athletic shoes and I am good to go. No need for a fashion magazine as a guide to follow.

he looks like another generic, dull, bland, white boy, IMO.

i'd walk right past him, without a second glance, in target (or wal-mart).

i unfortunately do work in fashion, for now....lol.

So from what my company has been pushing, this picture is very much in line with whats "in style." The details of a thin fitting shirt and thin tie coincide with the military theme, and the leather motorcycle jacket goes with the rugged ready wear look. Fashion for men right now is going in the direction of a man being able to wear just about anything, as long as its fitted and simple. The only graphic patterns are being put on t-shirts right now. Men, rejoice, no matter what your budget if you have a good tailor - you're set icon_smile.gif

I am into fashion, but I do not consider GQ to be a real fashion magazine, lol. I think it was moreso 5 years ago, but now just a men's celebrity mag with the requisite D&G and Gucci ads.

This cover has a major stylist error. The skinny tie and small knot may be on trend, but they don't suit Tatum's body type. That's what happens when you put sample size on someone with muscle (rather than a fashion model). He would still have given off the skinny tie effect if it was twice as wide. The way it is is a bit comical.

I don't know or follow fashion trends at all. I'm sure people look at me with pity and want to dress me, but I am very happy in my loose jeans and hoodies. I own a tux and can clean up as needed, but for the most part I don't want my clothes to be a stressor.

However, I like Channing, as these things go. I have read a few interviews with him and think he would be fun to be around. And he sure is nice to look at.

he looks more pumped up and "athletic" than most of the aneroxic-nervosa practicing, bone thin models of the past.

    BUT

more than a few guys here on RJ are MUCH more appealing and better looking.

I hope that he doesn't try to get down to "fashion" size. I am FB friends with a good-looking guy who is enjoying some success in modeling. He used to be nice and buff, now he looks scrawny to me. It's bad enough they do that to women, don't start with guys now.

    ....

    Exactly!

However, while I have no issues with GQ or Mr. Tatum, I really don't consider GQ to be an arbiter of high fashion for men. In my humble opinion, that would go to Vogue Hommes International [Paris] and Vogue Hommes Japan. These editions tend to be filled with more 'high-fashion' styling, interest, and better photography and advertisements.

Just my two cents. Check these magazines out if you can. They put GQ, Details, and whatever other magazine for men focused on fashion to a large degree to utter shame!

    As far as GQ goes
I used to love the magazine
    Hence my name icon_rolleyes.gif
But they really pissed me off when they started to go all hetero
placing women on the cover to drown out the truth that many of their readers were gay
