I swear ... this guy is a piece of cake

A Blogger impersonates David Koch and gets through to Walker
and everything we THOUGHT about the dude is TRUE

The bastard won't talk with the Democrats or the Unions ..... but for David Koch
Even a FAKE David Koch he takes his call

I swear if I was living in Wisconsin I'd be handing out recall sheets to everybody

    http://www.slate.com/blogs/blogs/weigel/archive/2011/02/23/did-scott-walker-reveal-his-crisis-ending-ruse-to-a-prank-caller.aspx

Walker, believing himself to be on the phone with his patron, seems to have had a long conversation about busting Wisconsin's unions.

This is stunning and very likely illegal, as politicians are forbidding for "colluding" with their campaign supporters. Walker may be out of job before the WI 14 come home to vote.

It should certainly give any fair-minded pause. Here the gov't is clearly exposed as trying to dupe the legislature and the public. But tjose who have drunk the Kool Aid won't be phased.

It squashed the Righties on here once it was proven the phone call was real.

Perhaps they'll return with some fresh talking points after tuning in to the Fox pro-right-wing propaganda channel tonight.

I kind of think the phone call is nothing more than the lefties playing "Much Ado About Nothing", grasping at anything they can, including a PUNK'D phone call. I have little doubt "The Phone Call" will be forgotten by the weekend.

Ah, here's the first talking point.
    File it under "wishful thinking".

You're totally wrong. This wasn't a prank call "is your refrigerator running?" the governor was seriously exposed as a liar and totally unethical. Even Republicans in that state should think before continuing being associated with him.

Uh there maybe wiretapping issues here if he called the governors mansion and represented himself as someone else to elicit a phone conversation it maybe criminal. Depends on where to phone call originated. If the caller misrepresented himself.

Also how do we know its authentic.?

Honestly I am sure it will be looked into.

You cannot have fake ethic violations or threaten a ethics complaint based on "fake data" .

This goes to show how low zealots will go to , and how desperate they are.

So its completly ok to make up a story and "test" a sitting Govenor to prove what?
I dont see anything but a potential felony. Posing as someone else and recording a conversation with intent to publish it.

    HE said MANY things.........

This was not a prank call where Aston Kutcher has a big chuckle...

This was EXPOSING the morally corrupt LEE ATWATER, KARL ROVE TACTICS of the GOP.

I know...it's such a huge story ("The Phone Call" that is) that I have yet to see it mentioned on the evening news. Forget being forgotten by the weekend, I think it's already become a non-story. It's not even trending on Yahoo LOL icon_lol.gif

Except that won't happen. Nor will their agents here on RJ. They're being paid in Wisconsin, and will earn their money. Just so long as we know what their motivation is. I wonder how many here are being paid?

A crime is a crime, just like when the idiots who tried to tap the Louisiana Senators office.

You cannot record a conversation like that. I am sure its not a common problem as no one would be stupid enough to attempt to do it and publish it.

Legally, as long as one of the parties on a two-party call knows it's being recorded, it's perfectly legal and admissible in any proceedings. Think about all the 911 calls and other phone calls that are admitted as evidence in criminal trials. If the caller was a cop or other law officer, they might be able to claim entrapment, but he isn't.

It is authentic. The governor has admitted to that.

It's an obvious violation of the law that forbids collusion between campaign donors and elected officials. I'm not saying that such collusion doesn't happen across the spectrum but he got caught.

Also, for those on the right who keep screeching about the unions being in bed with the Democrats, what say you about this?

Ok i will wait for a real legal interpretation rather than the 10th Supreme Court Justice.

There is gonna be NO court case.
Except for the person who called potentially a state office building using a fictitious name to tape a conversation.

The Governor is the Chief Law Enforcement agent of Wisconsin.

Said Blogger is not acting under "color of law"

You cannot MAKE SHIT UP and claim a crime.

Ask yourself if you taped a police officer and faked a bribe to him then tried to submit that how far it would go?

Tricky thing is, where the call originated. Its very dependent on that.

    Fed Law
    ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS PRIVACY ACT

    UNITED STATES CODE

TITLE 18. CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE
    PART I--CRIMES
CHAPTER 119--WIRE AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS INTERCEPTION AND
    INTERCEPTION OF ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

    (d) It shall not be unlawful under this chapter for a person
not acting under color of law to intercept a wire, oral, or
electronic communication where such person is a party to the
communication or where one of the parties to the communication
has given prior consent to such interception unless such
communication is intercepted for the purpose of committing any
criminal or tortious act in violation of the Constitution or laws
of the United States or of any State.

calm down on any hopes of trial or resignation.

If you call up the govenor, and so called "fake a call"

Why isnt that a bribe attempt.?

You cannot say afterwards "I only mean to expose the govenor not commit a crime."

    try doing that dance.

This particular liberal blogger think he is so smart, but hopefully someone can raise some funds for a legal defense fund. Its the reason nobody does this except law enforcement.
Entrapment is very delicate, and can only be practice by law enforcement.
You cannot self deputize yourself Liberal in Chief.
