Unfriendly Tourist Attraction in SF

Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco was an unfriendly attraction to tourists like me. I don't know why the bus stranded us there for several hours. There's an inconvenient lack of public restrooms, seats, and trash cans throughout the Wharf. It was also cold and windy.

I don't recommend that bus tour. We were only there for a one-day tour. The time was limited. I didn't get a chance to see the gay venues, like the Castro.

The Wharf blows, there's way more things to do in SF!

Check out the Tenderloin at night. The area around Glide Memorial is where all the hot men hang out. O'Farrell and Leavenworth is a great place to just hang. Just walk the streets. Cool little hotels in the TL as well. You'll never find finer!

Also, the area south of Market between Folsom, right around 9th. Man, it's like a street party.

You'll want to wear your finest bling and go cruising around Turk and Market. That's a happening spot late at night. Hospitality like you've never seen!

Hang with the kids on Haight right near Coffee To The People. It's tres Bohemian!

And if that's not exciting enough for you, there are some places in Oakland that you'll really dig!

Welcome to San Francisco! The City by the Bay! A mosaic of diversity, delights and depravity await! Hop the Muni and enjoy the show! It's the best entertainment you can find for 2 bucks!

Just don't take anything (including yourself) too seriously and you'll have a great time!

    Aloha and Be Well!

If you call it Frisco, you won't be making many friends there.

Fisherman's Wharf is where we send anyone that says "Frisco."

Fisherman's Wharf is kinda boring. It's one big tourist trap. When I was there a few months ago, the only thing worth seeing were the sidewalk acts. Particularly, there were these Australian gymnasts. Doing balancing acts with ladders and chairs. While shirtless. icon_biggrin.gif

Exactly, that will get you booted from the City faster than anything. Sorry you had a bad experience here. It's a great City. There's so much to do. The Wharf can be fun for a quick stop but I'm with you in that any extended period of time is overkill. Also, when it's cold, it's cold along the bay. You should have looked up some of us from the area to show you the more interesting places. Come back again, it really is a beautiful city.

I guess that's exactly what I saw last summer. British or Aussie twin bros and their sis? IDK. I also saw a silver pirate.

Plenty of Asian tourists there don't use the term. I didn't use it then.
Like I said, such tours aren't flexible.

San Francisco is too expensive and a glorified tourist trap. I have lost interest in visiting that "city by the bay" since I last visited there in 1980.

The tenderloin? Nothing like SF hospitality. I accidently got turned around from Knob Hill and ended up in the Tenderloin. Nothing but homeless, drug dealers, and really scary people. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Also, don't forget to say "hella" a lot. You'll fit right in with the locals. icon_lol.gif

And yes, GAMRican is joking. Tenderloin is a pretty rough area. I would recommend staying away.
