Being that I work from home and I drive a hybrid, I use very little gas, however, being that prices are increasing and that are no signs of them going back down, I thought that more people want to see where they can save some $. Some of the gas stations in my area are $3.60- over $4 a gallon now.

Let me guess this is somehow Bush's fault right????? considering that's the Obama's line for everything!! SPEAKING OF..

where the HELL are all the liberals who were on Bush's ass saying he was the one man responsible for the high price of oil back in 2008??

OOO THAT'S RIGHT.. they are so far UP Obama's ass to even care!!

funny oil has gone up 11% in 2 weeks based on speculation of a disruption of oil coming from a country that produces only 1% of the worlds oil output!! AND say gas is at 100 dollars a barrel.. funny these gas prices were just about as high in 2008 when the price of oil was $140 a barrel... and the standard of living has gone down in 2008 because of the recession.. SOOO thus the MATH DOES NOT ADD UP!!!!

AT least Bush stopped for about 3 months putting oil into our strategic reserves!! Obama has done NOTHING!!

Don't blame me, I voted for the only ticket with actual executive and commander in chief experience (McCain & Palin; at least Palin not only knew how to balance a budget but she also turned a multi-billion dollar deficit into a multi-billion dollar surplus, lower unemployment, increase jobs, lowered taxes, and increased funding to education), not to mention Palin is a big proponent of DRILL BABY DRILL in the short term and finding alternative sources in the long term!!

JUST SAYIN.. but i'm sure i'll get the whole LIBERAL propaganda crap.. stupid this and ignorant that.. just do me one favor.. DO SOME RESEARCH before you open your mouth!!

This morning at a station near my work regular unleaded was at $3.09/gal, while others have been creeping up to $3.15/gal.

Tonight when I left work, the price went from $3.09/gal to $3.29/gal....twenty cents per gallon in 9 hours......sad.

southbeach1500 saidHow about the Obama administration completely changing direction and stop closing coal mines and lift the drilling moratorium (which they continue to impose despite a Federal judge's order that they go back to processing and granting drilling permits).

But then that would go against the Obama plan, which is to drive up the cost of energy in this country which in turn will cause less consumption. About the only thing Obama's "energy plan" has done is make us even MORE reliant on foreign sources for our energy supply.

    Eat dirt!

I suppose your conservative Butt Pirates at Faux News failed to mention that OPEC has raised the cost per barrel due to the unrest in Northern Africa.

I suggest you catch real news sometime on MSNBC where you might actually know what is going on in the world, instead of the latest lies from Glenn Beck.

I don't need to do anymore research than I already have before I open my 'mouth' in this thread. A news report in my area shows that the oil manufacturers in this country have so much profit on the books right now, but can not nor will they give some type of explanation, reasonable or not as to why the price of gas has skyrocketed in the past 7 days. Yesterday in my city, the price of gas was $3.25. Today, it is $3.39. Last week at this same time, it was $2.92.

Blame whatever president or administration you want. I will tell you now you are blowing so much smoke out of your collective asses, it would probably could become the NEW ENERGY of the planet. The fact of the matter is OIL COMPANIES are driving theses prices. Admittedly, I don't know enough about the world economy to specifically site beginning to end of this problem, but what I do know is even after that mess in the gulf, oil companies are still turning in record profits in obscene amounts. There is absolutely no real bonafide reason gas prices should be this high and this whole notion of it just simply being a capitalist venture of supply and demand is offensive at the very least.

The lies come from EVERYONE.. fox.. cnn.. msnbc.. they have their respective target markets and they exploit what their audience wants to hear!!! the facts are..

Obama has not done enough to help ease the energy issues in America and he has power to assist in them!! whether it be to use his executive orders to resume exploration for our own oil.. or use the current technology available to unearth the oil underneath the midwest or even to temp stop increasing our supplies of strategic oil reserves!! the fact of the matter is he has the power to help, but still does nothing!!

I recall reading prices are headed up do to the political unrest in Libia. Oil producers are pulling out their workers & shutting down production in advance of what could happen. Other oil producing countries can step up production but their oil is not the same high quality, so it needs more refinement to meet environmental standards for gasoline.
Oh and the prices will be back down when the Libia stuff is over.

'Scuse me here, but he has been in office for a tick over two years now. Yes, alternative energy is an issue we need to deal with--and soon. However, trying to undo the collateral damage from eight years of not-so-Curious-George Bush.

It takes a lot of time to unravel the mess caused by the Bushes. Took Bill Clinton a while....going to take Barack a lot longer.....and it will take at least a generation to correct the mess left by Jeb Bush in Florida.

Just wait, energy issues will get their just due.....

I really get my dander up when I read posts blaming any one administration for oil prices and the mess we are in with our addiction to it. The day will come when we WILL be held hostage (if it's not already here) to the mideast and our dependence on them for oil. We have no one to blame but ourselves...administration after administration...democrat & Republican...when the price of gas sends our economy into yet another tailspin. It's a collective fuck-up that is years in the making.

Americans that drive an SUV and/or "Luxury" car have no right to complain.

    Just saying.

If you're concerned about the price of 'gas' in the States, perhaps you should do a bit of research and see how much they're charging in the rest of the developed world... should give you a bit of perspective on how good you've got it where you are. icon_rolleyes.gif

If either Bush or Obama were to put a ceiling on gas in the interest of preserving our economy/populism, than it wouldn't be their faults. I personally plan on blaming Osama Bin Laden. Can't go wrong there.

Just because other people have it worse does not make it okay that in a week gas prices can go up by almost $0.25

In Taiwan gas has been climbing also. For our lowest grade of unleaded gasoline is 92 octaine at the price of $30.8NT per Liter. 1USD is about 29.39NT (Taiwan Dollar).

So 1 gallon of 92 octain gas would be approximately $4.05USD. This is consider expensive in Taiwan cause the cost of living is less than the US. Although gas is close in price, but its relatively more expensive to the people here.

    Gas hikes sucks regardless! icon_mad.gif

A lot of the price drive in both oil and refined fuels is by commodities speculators and hedge funds who are making a bubble just as what happened in 2008.

The the 2008 bubble took much longer to pop.

I expect this one will break the $145 support and likely hit $165 or $170 USD per barrel before the misery index can no longer support it.

Look for the GOP to capitalize on this as an issue for 2012 elections: $5.50/gal gas by late summer will not only be crippling us, but may well touch off food riots as global commerce transportation costs price most people (globally) out of the market for non-local goods.

Fisherman unable to afford gas or diesel for their boats; farmers unable to afford fertilizer and fuel for equipment; shipping companies forced to pass on costs to warehouses and stores who in turn pass it on consumers.

All the more reason to Drill, Baby... Drill.

Shale Oil and Methane Clathrates and Fischer-Tropsch coal oil conversion for domestic petroleum win.

Todd, if I read you right, I agree. Let's face it- decades of hefty consumption of a finite resource forces the invisible hand to raise the price of oil. We're merely paying the piper. Our best alternative most likely has to be to try to find a renewable alternative to petroleum.

We finally went above $3.00 a gallon here in Kansas, I think its about $3.14 or so the last time I looked.
