Tonight while at the gym, lifting weights in a manly way, I heard REM's "This One Goes Out To The One I Love" and I thought, that just sounds dated . . .

. . . has anyone else had that experience?

Have you ever been to a club in Detroit? It might be 2011, but we still party like its 1999.

    This song sounds dated.

But when you listen to the lyrics, you realize it's probably not. icon_lol.gif

1981 ? The audio arrangement sounds more like 1931.

    !?

I thought I was the only one that felt this about that song.. I cant place it yet but I will.. it sounds very very similar to another song I haven't heard in quiet some time, maybe 80-90's.

Express Yourself by Madonna....I think that was either 1989 or 1990.

Few songs define the 80's as well as 'Oh Yeah' by Yello. Too bad because every other song of theirs makes them one of my favorite bands.

One of my favorite and one of the coolest songs to come out of the 80s but it totally screams early 80s new wave.....Sparks with Jane Weidlein of the Go Gos' "Cool Places"

How is this for dated 80s...remember the Valley Girl craze and the long forgotten but still pretty awesome "Valley Girl" by Frank Zappa featuring his daughter Moon Unit
