How can they selectively cite the Bible as defining marriage between one man and one man when there are examples of polygamous marriages in the same source?

you are right, the biblical model on relationships is based on polygamy, the one man one woman thing is a modern value.

Some Christians do and some Christians don't. And to some Christians this is just confirmation that Jesus Christ's return is right around the corner. Heck if you listen to Camping - it will be May 21, 2011 as a matter of fact.

Thanks for posting that article. It was a very interesting read. Also I looked at some of the comments and if you noticed most people agreed with the gay marriage supporters. It almost seemed to confirm the article above. Yes there were some hateful comments but they tended to get negative agreements.

Christians need to prepare for going extinct! Christ is oh his way to join the pantheon of Jove, Zeus, and the rest.

Churches should stay out of politics or pay taxes!

Except for the fact that Jesus and Muhammad were real, historical people so there will probably always be people who follow them as opposed to the other gods who are mythical.

Still confused over the whole thing. Why do Christians need to worry about gay marriage? I'm lost... just because the US government permits marriage between homosexuals does not mean that all Christian denominations will. Each church will have to decide what they do and do not support - that's the separation clause in the Constitution. Churches like the Catholic church and Evangelical Christians may find themselves on the outside looking in on a new religious order. Still lost on the whole thing...

What's always worth a chuckle is the strange and LOUD silence about atheists that legally marry, and have done so openly ever since marriage became secular. Nary a peep from the Christians and other religions that do not recognize those marriages.

I think conservative Christians (especially the ones that are Republican) believe that if the US allows gays marriage that God will turn his back on the nation.

Ironic since, in my opinion, Republicans are guilty of the sin of Sodom:

"'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy." Ezekiel 16:49

If God would turn His back on America as He did on Sodom, it would be because of the Conservatives.

I completely agree. There aren't very many conservative Christians that follow the teachings of Jesus.

Considering how bad an aim God always seemed to be, I would just as soon not be around when He is.
