JackHoffman saidStill confused over the whole thing. Why do Christians need to worry about gay marriage? I'm lost... just because the US government permits marriage between homosexuals does not mean that all Christian denominations will. Each church will have to decide what they do and do not support - that's the separation clause in the Constitution. Churches like the Catholic church and Evangelical Christians may find themselves on the outside looking in on a new religious order. Still lost on the whole thing...
I think conservative Christians (especially the ones that are Republican) believe that if the US allows gays marriage that God will turn his back on the nation.
Ironic since, in my opinion, Republicans are guilty of the sin of Sodom:
"'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy." Ezekiel 16:49
If God would turn His back on America as He did on Sodom, it would be because of the Conservatives.
