Is it just me or was last night's Oscar's Awards Show the pits? It was so unbelievably dull. I like both James Franco and Ann Hathaway, but they were not a good fit as co-hosts. They came off as silly and trying WAY too hard. When Billy Crystal came out, it reminded everyone what was seriously lacking in this year's show. I think, like the old days when Bob Hope or Johnny Carson hosted, that they need a host of the Academy Awards that has that sort of stature and longevity in the business and commands respect. Billy Crystal is a much better fit for this sort of thing. I think Alec Baldwin could pull it off as well. The overall production of the show was impressive though.

I liked them and thought they did well. Maybe the show was a snooze because there really were not many contests to drive up interest.

Seemed very low-key, like both James and Anne individually, but they were out of their element. Happy with most of the winners, but it was not one of the great shows to remember, that is for sure.
