my friends did the one in bear valley. they had a good time but some of them got sick afterwards. apparently it was because of the dirty mud. altho i think it really was because they whored it up that weekend. I am not sure how well they did but they sure didn't train for it. they all workout regularly tho. i registered for the may one in LA.

that is great. you will have to keep me posted. i have been working out since October. Not much training for this kind of thing, but I am excited to start some endurance training. I think it will be fun. A little nervous, but exciting.

I'm doing the one in Allentown this April with a few friends of mine. We're not training for it specifically, but we're all doing the Pittsburgh marathon in May so that's taking care of it.

I'll let you how it goes. It looks like a blast, especially the electroshock therapy obstacle. lol

There is also a series called Muddy Buddy. I've yet to participate but it's on my list.

And I was told you have to just BOLT thru it or drop like the fly you spoke of.

A group from my gym - my trainer and some buddies and me - are looking at doing the one in Tampa in December.

    Really looking forward to it.

I thought I'd give you guys an update on this. Did it last weekend and it was one of the most fun events I've done in my life. I would definitely suggest it. In regards to how hard it was, I would say it's as hard as you want it to be. At it's easiest, it was a rough 11 mile hike. There were some less athletic people skipping events, walking the entire course, etc. But I think if you run as much of it as you can and do all the obstacles, it's a rewarding experience. Here are some pics I got.

This was the final course. They added an extra mile and half and a few obstacles to what they had on the website.

Before and after shots. Yeah, we all drew kitty whiskers on our faces. :-)

Electroshock Therapy. This was the funniest to watch. None of us got a really bad jolt, but some people were brought down by it.

A few friends came with us to watch, and all of them wanted to do it. We're already signing up for one in Virginia in October. It's definitely worth it.
