I'm only about 5'3" tall, and at the moment I saunter between 175-180 pounds. Depending on when weighted and what I'm wearing when weighted. I wanted to know if anyone out there is around this same height, and achieved the skinny little figure like a twink. I know twink's usually are considered to be tall, and have long arms and legs. Yet I have seen people who don't work out, and are almost as tall as me be that skinny. I was wondering if any of us shorties, have gone from 180 down to like 120. Plus still look healthy doing so.

    A couple of things:
    1. Genetics will determine to a large degree your body type: ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph.
    2. You can influence your body type by the things you eat. How "clean" is your food consumption? Do you cook at home, or is it a bunch of fast food? Please note that I wrote "influence" and not "change" in referring to your body type.
    3. Embrace who you are and make the most of what you have. You list a wide variety of sports. How active are you really?

In regards to #2, my parents live in OK as well...the only restaurant with healthy options closed 'cuz the all you can eat buffet next door put them out of business.

Yes, after Genetics. It is all about Diet and Exercise. Just hit the gym, and watch what you eat. Any type of improvement anyone can make to themselves will make anyone feel better.

Well, eat Kälteen bars. What they do is burn up all your carbs, and then your body will just be running on water. But once the water's gone, then you'll be all muscle and you'll drop 5 lbs like that ::snaps fingers::.

Don't you just love how people with no photos or profile info seem to insult the most. Calling the OP a chunk is not called for.

As for height and weight. I have met people our height, that certainly have twinkish bodies, about 5'4" and 110-115lbs.

I'm just shy of 5'5", and 180 myself, though fairly muscular now, which is a big part of my weight, I wasn't always like this. After I graduated high school, a slowly gained weight until I was 22, and got up to about 185lbs, with a 37" waist. I then decided it was time to lose the fat. In about 4 months time i dropped down to 132lbs, and a 31" waist. To do that, I drastically changed my diet, not starvation, but cut out fast food and soda, also cut out most processed foods, and watched my portions, also did over an hour of intense cardio every day. After I lost all the fat, I gained a little muscle, took me up to about 145lbs, and stayed there for about 5 years before I decided to do some bodybuilding.

I'm meso-endomorph, which does make it difficult for me to burn fat, but also makes gaining muscle, and keeping it, easier. Just saying, it is possible for you to cut a lot of fat, and stay healthy, if you have the discipline and know how to do it right. Talk to a nutritionist, and a trainer to get you on right path.

I'm know genetics plays a big role. Not sure what kind of morph I am. I have trouble with diet, since I'm living with my family while going to school. I can't bring the stuff I like to eat into the house, because I never actually get to eat it. They do, so mostly I end up getting grilled chicken salad's on my way to work or school with little or no dressing. As for the sports, at the moment only basketball with my lil sis when I'm not busy. I used to play baseball, football, soccer, and basketball when in school. A friend of mine are going to try out the rest of that list I put up this summer. Other then that, I do yoga almost daily. At the gym which I try and go to at least once a day I get in a lot of cardio, and some light weight training. I know it's not good to work out every day, but at least 3 of those days all I'm mainly doing is the stairmaster or treadmill.

Weren't those mentioned in the movie Mean Girls. I'm pretty sure so, and I think they do the opposite of what you said. Way to put someone down, thankfully I'm a being of pure positive energy, or at least I try to be.

    Stop eating so much

Most of the guys I know who have that kind of body type never think about food.

Maybe a diet of 1200 cals a day would be a good start then you can increase it to a normal amount when you have lost the weight.

Don't have any junk food in your house. You have to think of the stuff as poison and avoid it like the plague.

If you feel hungry, drink lots of water, your cravings should pass or try chewing gum, that works.

Stick to two meals day, skip breakfast as it's the easiest to miss or dinner if you don't like eating in the evening.

If you have to snack eat fruit and vegetables, carrot sticks are great as are celery sticks, hardly any calories.

Drink coffee, its a good appetite suppressant but so are most hot drinks, they will make you feel full.

BUT don't go too far, you don't want to end up ana x

DO NOT binge and purge, it ruins your teeth xxx

Your profile and your posting seem that you are trying many things, but have your established a routine? It takes repeated effort to change your eating habits and to create a cardio and light weight routine that you can follow at the gym when not into sports. This doesn't happen overnight.

As far as the family eating your food, can you put a mini-fridge in your bedroom? BTW, breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day.

Take a look at the workout routines here and there's lots of healthy nutrition advice.

um.... height doesn't really have anything to do with this.
And, being short is actually more common (and generally preferred) with "twinks" (a lot of people have hang-ups about bottoms being taller than tops, silly, but true).
And I've known very short, very slim twinks (it's a very attractive look).

The only reason I can think you'd be confused into thinking of twinks as tall is because slender people always look taller, it's just an illusion created by their proportions. (Contrarily, wider people tend to look shorter, except perhaps at extremes, where they just look big.)

Lol, people usually think I am much taller than i am based on my pictures if they don't happen to notice where height is listed. I'm pretty short, and not exactly skinny anymore.

This is not great advice. First, you should never skip breakfast!! Such an important meal, even if you have to make it something you can eat on the go. Second, it's pretty widely accepted these days that more smaller meals will help keep your metabolism going which will help you burn fat. Two meals is way too little. I know plenty of people who only eat twice a day, and I can assure you they are nowhere near being in shape. Unless you are just naturally very slender, not eating meals won't help you lose fat... you'll just burn through a lot of muscle and end up with still a high body fat %.

Do it the right way... you will most likely never have the body of a "twink", seeing as most twinks are just naturally small and lean. Some of them don't even work out, that's genetics. But if you workout and eat healthy, your body can be the best it can be... learn to strive for that body, not some specific body type that you very possibly may not be able to achieve.

Saw this happen all the time when I wrestled. Basically you wanted to wrestle around 20 lbs below your natural weight. If you cut out all sugar, (including juice) bread and baked wheat products it's easy. Seemed to work better for short than tall guys.
