Would you want this guy on your jury? He's not because he's GAY.

Lair. If you show up and said that, they will eliminate you. You can not just write that and they will excuse you. Based on the age and the year you came to US, they will not believe you and accept that excuse.

The guy's an idiot. Gay men and women can adopt in NY State.

The topic of gay adoption is something even the most mentally challenged gay New Yorker can speak to with authority. This guy obviously thinks it's more important to hit the gym than educate himself before he opens his pie hole.

    FAIL.

lol! I've used that to get out of some awkward situations in the past...it's a good card to have on the occasion. I think we should all have some "get out of jail" free cards...

    thx for sharing.

    *Liar u mean?

You shouldnt be so fast to judge. I honestly didn't know much English back then buddy. I came to US in 2003. They asked me around 2006 through an envelope. My accent improved a lot then but my vocabulary was still very limited when it was outside of everyday conversations.

I will never serve on a jury. I have epilepsy that might cause me to have "absence seizures" during testimony, when I won't be conscious when testimony is being given.

I was also in military law enforcement for over 20 years. Defense lawyers hate that, and will dismiss me for that. And now I know I can simply say I'm gay, a third reason I won't be chosen. Good deal!

Dunno... I thought I had a pretty good out, but it didn't work. It probably depends on where you live. In rural counties, the pool of prospective jurors is so small, they almost never let anybody off. They just want bodies in the seats. Sometimes, the whole courthouse shuts down, while the sheriff goes off to round up people who didn't show up for jury duty.

For just a moment stop congratulating yourselves on how cool it is to duck jury service and think about the consequences.
Gay people's life experiences make us skeptics who tend to look critically at what we're told by authority figures. That's the ideal mindset for an impartial jury.
If you dodge jury service, think about who will be there in your place.
