Oh I Hate Michael Moore ............

    But he is never wrong
I love the way the people start chanting Shame Shame Shame
    at the end

    The republicans thought
they'd be able to ................ after they so easily gave it away for the last 30 years
turn around and now say to the Middle Class
    Umm ... Check Please

lol .... so glad to see that it isn't working out that way

Michael Moore is not only a moron, he's a brazen hypocrite. No, I don't need to hate him, I think he's entertaining -- like the glenn beck of the left.

Ahem... that would be multi-millionaire Michael Moore.
Or, perhaps we should call him "self-loathing" Michael Moore as he is constantly blaming "the rich" (i.e. himself) for everyone's woes.

    SEE icon_e_wink.gif

But anyway Here are some excerpts from his speech
    1.

America is not broke. Wisconsin is not broke. The only thing that’s broke is the moral compass of the rulers.

    2.

A government run by billionaires for billionaires is an affront to freedom, morality, and humanity.

    3.

The rich have overplayed their hand. They couldn’t have been just content with the money they raided from our Treasury. They couldn’t be satisfied with having removed millions of jobs and shipped them overseas. They had to have more…. They had to strip our teachers of their dignity. They had to shut us up and shut us down so we that weren’t even allowed at the table to bargain.

    4.

Just like your soon-to-be-ex-governor, I have nothing more than a high school education. But Gov. Walker, back when I was in school, every student had to take one semester of economics before you can graduate. Here’s what I learned: Money doesn’t grow on trees. It grows when we make things. It grows when we have good jobs with good wages to buy the things we need. And guess what: That creates more jobs.

    5.

Thank you Wisconsin. You have made people realize that right now is our last best chance to grab the final thread of what is left of how we are as Americans. For three weeks you have stood in the cold, slept on the floor, skipped out of town to Illinois—whatever it took, you’ve done it. And one thing is certain: Madison is only the beginning!

Yes. He's calling for people in his bracket to be taxed more. It's called patriotism, but you probably wouldn't recognize it.

But does he represent the truth?

He may not lie, but he can twist the truth, and I'm sure he does.

Anyone who takes Moore seriously has clearly calibrated themselves within the US political spectrum. Operative words - irrelevant, ignore

I didnt say I hate him.... I said hes a hypocrite and a oppportunist.

He often hires or hired non-union workers for his films.

He lives up on the Upper west side in a great school district and still sent his daughter to private school.

While being for the so called "working man"......

And hes generally a mean and nasty person to the staff he works with. Talk to any writer that had worked with him. This has been chronicled in pieces from Salon.com., NY Post, etc
He deflects any and all criticism of those points, soundly and quite arrogantly.

Outside of him personally , in Bowling for Columbine for example he spliced in words to mislead the public about Charlton Hestons speech.

    http://www.salon.com/june97/media/media970606.html

He makes a nice living getting 40,000 dollars a lecture at Universities all over the world. ( sounds like a populist to me)

He sued the producers of his last film, for 2.7million after making 25million on the film. Ya think the scale WGA, or DGA workers saw anything from that?

What he is doing right now is staying relevant, so he can continue his nice income and maybe a film.

Hes a good actor and businessman , something he denounces ...
Why is he any different than the greedy CEO's he denounces in his movies?

Michael Moore is one of those Socialists that claims everyone is equal, or should be. But he is just apparently more equal than the rest of us. Apparently he believes we should spread the wealth around, just not his wealth. Charging college students 40k for a lecture when your a millionare ?

And that is why he is a hypocrite.

Never lies.?... well its a thin veil of truth.

Mercy me .... Michael Moore dares to make a profit from his profession icon_rolleyes.gif

As far as him suing MiraMax he ain't the first to sue that company and he isn't going to be the last
The brothers who ran that company were a pair of sharks and that's painting a bad picture of real sharks
    So that's all ya got?

Of the hours upon hours of film time and all the allegations that have come to pass
You still wanna compare him to ....lol

    Glenn Beck ?? icon_rolleyes.gif

no because I will stick to the topic.

Why not compare him to Charlie Sheen then?

Truth is , Moore has been discredited way before Bush was president. In that Salon.com piece for example.

He is a Limousine liberal that takes the subway the last block and wears his metro card around his neck.

If Beck falls into that catagory of self created controversy, then so be it.

Moore is closer to John Edwards without a makeover and a trainer. He safely lives in the other America but tries to make everyone else feel bad about it.

I would contrast Moore to a guy like Ralph Nader , who actually believes in his cause and lives it. That is respectable at least.

    ORLY?

I don't hear or read anything about our favorite supersized faux-Socialist/limousine liberal DONATING his surplus income proportionate to whatever his pre-Bush tax rates to the IRS as a patriotic example.

That'd be like Al Gore giving up his 23,000+ square foot house with more than 10x the average American household's carbon footprint or his jet-setting for the sake of keeping the polar bears from drowning in the Arctic Ocean.

I really don't see Michael Moore as anti-union when he indeed used some union workers in his film.

hes not anti-union per se. Just a hypocrite.

In many articles he has been discredited , most notably for his portrayal of Charlton Heston.

He lives in a swank neighborhood and send his kid to private school. Makes tons of money of of Universities and movies about the "poor". Who the hell is he to lecture anyone?

As far back as 97, in the Salon.com piece he had been coined a hypocrite. He resurfaces every so often to keep himself relevant. No matter what happens he will start his college lecture circuit and charge 40k a lecture.

He criticized CEO's in his docudrama's for being greedy and mean.
You cannot find one writer or industry person who actually liked working with him.

So in order to Not be a "hypocrite" as you say he needs to
    live in downtown Detroit
give his "40k" per lecture to planned parenthood or some other cause
and people have to Like him ?

    The single truth remains
everything he said has come to pass

    Good point.

I suppose Christian73 also refers to Michael Moore as "a fat fuck" - as he often calls the Governor of New Jersey.

No. I refer to Moore as "a fat bastard." icon_rolleyes.gif
