Saw this recently on Advocate.com and wanted to share. The commentary has merit. In my own experience, I have encountered situations where "racial lookism" does occur, but also where I'm accepted for who I am in various racial circles. Thoughts are welcomed.

I agree. Asian men like myself are often grouped by others who are ignorant and less educated about who we are as a group. I was on another gay site and this guy, out of the blue just assumed, "Oh, you are Asian. So you are a bottom?" Ugghhhhh! So frustrating, and at the same time....very sad.

I've learned to ignore those kind of comments (why waste my energy with rude people that I don't know in my personal time), although, I have to admit it is annoying. I enjoy the time with friends and those that I meet that have no assumptions about who I am.

I do the same as you do. Life is too short to waste my time and energy on focusing on what people think about me. It's just that it's soooooooooo frustrating when people assume something about you that you know isn't true. I sometimes just wanna say, "Listen buddy, bend over and let me prove you wrong!" LOL
