prepaul77 saidAnd if you need further proof that WP is a rip-off, tickets to Ultra in Miami cost $220. Early bird tickets were only $120 !
I agree that the vast majority of the WP attendees won't go to a mixed event like Ultra or Coachella, but many of them do have misconceptions about the crowds. These events are way more gay friendly than people realize and if we want to be accepted by society, we need to venture outside the gay bubble and mingle with a straight crowd. You can't complain about being a second class citizen if you won't let straight people see that we're the same as everyone else.
I think the other reason the boys rush to events like WP but are reluctant to go to something like Ultra, is not because the latter is str8, but because the former is all about sex, hot men, and more sex. Str8 events have less appeal because they're about the music.
Hrm. Seems like you have quite a jaded view towards the whole thing. I don't go to mixed straight/gay events normally, I prefer the exclusivity of the gay crowd. I don't have any misconceptions about any of it. Pretty sure a lot of people do not have any misconceptions as well. Also, obviously it's not really a matter of whether it's gay friendly or not. . . I'd be willing to bet a lot of straight people would not go to an event where thousands of gay guys are dancing half naked. Just saying.
I also don't give a damn personally whether *I* am accepted by society. I've never felt nor been perceived as a second class citizen either (except one time I was in GA and felt some racism because of being Asian) My life is great just as it is. . . if you are concerned, you should be more involved in activism and such and look into that.
Your last comment is borderline bigotry. . . so no reason to justify any of it
