No, I never even knew there was dissension between the two until I joined this site. From what I've seen, gay men hate on Bi-guys because they think it's just a front to keep one foot still in the closet... Hah, what fucking idiots. While it may be the case for some, it isn't for all, bisexuality can exist.

Leave those poor Bisexuals alone; as for me, I only bat for one team. icon_wink.gif

Gays hate bisexuals? Wasn't there just a thread somewhere about how people thought having a partner who happens to be bisexual a "turn-on" or something?

I always thought gays hated lesbians. lolol

What? Why would you think that? Where did you hear that from?

Funny I was going to make a topic about this, some militant sodomites believe bi to be a phase to appear socially hip or more acceptable to society, which is funny because the only people I know of who pretend to be bi are women.

This attitude from gay men is most common from users who posts on sites like "Queerty". That annoying guy Dan Savage has said it in the past that he doesn't believe in Male Bisexuality and that it is a "transitional" phase into Gay Town. icon_rolleyes.gif

More reasons for me to hate that asshole Dan Savage...

A while back, I noticed that gay men rarely hang around with gay women. Like the two have different sections of where to go. I asked my friend, who is pretty much a fag hag, "What's up with that?" And she said, she didn't know. But for the most part, gay men and lesbians just aren't fond of each other. I laughed, of course this isn't 100% accurate. But the idea, I think, is humorous. I picture super butch women vs. flamboyant men.

This is true. I don't have a problem with bi guys in general, it's just the asshat bi guys that give them a bad name with gay men. (there are asshat gays and straights too...)

I've met some bi guys who are awesome, but also some who are real jerks that think they are somehow better than gays because they "aren't fully gay" and how they hate the "gay scene" (whatever that is) and blah blah blah...they are often the same guys that will play the victim as the "poor bi guy". Maybe its some sort of defense mechanism.

Yes, I've run into gay hostility directed against bi's on other gay social networking sites over the years. It most commonly takes the form of the false claim that bisexuality doesn't even exist.

I have no hostility to bi's, nor to lesbians, for that matter, another favorite gay target. My philosophy is that if I want straights to accept me as a gay, then I have to accept straights, and everyone else of all sexual orientations. To do otherwise is hypocrisy.

At the same time, I prefer not to date a bi guy. My concern is that his interest in me is only 50%, and he's always at risk to be seduced by a woman over me. It's bad enough gays have to contend with other male competition at times, but I don't wanna hafta be fighting a "2-front" war against females, as well, for which I'm not equipped with the same "weaponry."

But then I have no interest in dating women, either, straight, lesbian or bi, so I view choosing not to date bi men in the same light. Yet I'm friendly towards all women, not socially exclusionary, same as I behave with bi men.

Some of the things you read online.... I certainly wouldn't have any hostility
toward a bi guy. But, in all honesty, I haven't have many sexual dealings with bi-guys. I suppose a couple of bad experiences might jade somebody, but you should know what "animal" you are dealing with.

I know some gay guys who have much bigger problems losing a guy to a girl than to another guy. Perhaps this has something to do with what you've heard or noticed. There also may be more than a few homos who won't admit to feeling less of a man than a bi guy because the homo can't get it up for a woman. There may be a jealousy issue or at the least the perception that a bi guy who can get it up for a girl is "smug" or giving off an air of "superiority". Fecundity is still very much a cultural virtue, even if it is rather obscured these days. To say nothing of the fact that we're actually overbreeding and have been for 100 years. But that's a different (oil) discussion.

But with respect to your question, it's never true that all of anything resents of all of anything else. Looks like the RJers still have a problem with broad-brush, all-or-nothing concepts. I haven't missed much.

I've noticed younger men and men of color seem to identify more as bisexual. Maybe its a toe dipping, maybe it isn't. But we should respect their own perception. After all, isn't that we all gender discrimination is about...respect?

That being said.. the biggest turn off for me is to hear someone describe themselves as st8 acting......as if that is a step above us honest, proud nelly queens.. LOL
