Did a perfume smell ever make you feel like throwing up?

The other day I was at the grocery store, and a lady was wearing a powdery sachet type of perfume that was very heavy and lingered long after she moved from a place where she was standing. It reminded me of a perfume that my Mom used to wear when I was a kid. I also remembered that a number of times I got car sick while I was smelling that perfume smell in the car, and I got the vivid image of being car sick all over again.

Long story short -- the scent of the perfume made me really queasy to the point where I thought I might throw up. I'm pretty tolerant of most odors, but that one really got to me.

Have you ever had something like this happen?

On my last flight to Germany, somebody in the back of the plane broke out the scented body oil. I got such a headache from that stuff!

Sometimes women wear the perfume this strongly to cover up unpleasant odors during those problem times of being one of the yeastie girls.

    i don't mind perfume alone.

whats bad is when people try to mask their BO with perfume or cologne. smells like a NYC taxi on a hot summer day.

Don't you remember that old commercial jingle, "Shower to Shower each day, helps keep odor away. Have you had your sprinkle today?"

There was this older woman I used to work with that wore a LOT of Tresor. I wouldn't say I felt like throwing up, but pretty close to it.

Well, I have this ability to clearly smell that time-of-the-month smell. Frankly, I'd rather smell that than perfume.

That time-of-the month smell and the odor of yeast infections and vaginal sweat are not the same thing.

Ever get a whiff of a woman passing you in the hallway at work, at that time of the month ?
For some reason, a lot of perfumes smell like that.

Everytime I encounter a guy wearing Fahrenheit Cologne I feel nauseous. I find that stuff vile.

Original Polo has made me nauseous. I wore it out on a night of bing drinking which ended with me puking my guts up icon_redface.gif
