I went for my annual check-up today. I haven't seen my MD for over 2.5 years. He is an older man and I've been going to him since I was 13 years old. Because I work in health-care (& see patients with a whole bunch of diseases), I just wanted to have everything checked (including STDs). I felt so uncomfortable because I know that he must have thought that I am a male slut (he knows that I'm not married; not that I'm feminine). It's so ironic since I've never even dated. I don't know why it bothered me, but it did.

Good for you for taking care of your health.

Now I think your issue is that you're seeing the same doctor that you've been seeing since you were 13 and probably went to with a parent. I could see how that could be embarrassing.
If you are so uncomfortable that you can't speak freely with your doctor then it's time to find one that you could speak freely. It doesn't do you any good to hold things back from your doctor.
