Recently my gym closed and I had to move to another gym. In the process of changing gyms I took a week off to look for my next gym. When I started bench pressing again at the new gym I noticed that I find it way more difficult to handle the same amount of weight I lifted before at my previous gym. At my old gym I could bench 150lbs + 45lbs bar. At the new gym I can only press 130lbs of weights. I cannot lift what I used to at all. I am not sure what is going on here. I have taken a week hiatus before and was able to come back and at least bench 140 lbs and work my way back up. Could it be that the material of the weights is different? The weights at the new gym say IRON on it. Could it be the weights are heavier even though they same the same amount of weights on then? Could the bar be heavier than the 45lbs that was at my previous gym? I'd like to ask someone who works out there from my old gym if they notice the same thing but I don't want to sound like a pussy. LOL. What do you guys think?
