    LEARN THE TRUTH ABOUT P.E.T.A.

    http://www.petakillsanimals.com/

Hypocrisy is the mother of all credibility problems, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has it in spades. While loudly complaining about the "unethical" treatment of animals by restaurant owners, grocers, farmers, scientists, anglers, and countless other Americans, the group has its own dirty little secret.

PETA kills animals. By the thousands.

From July 1998 through December 2009, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed over 23,000 dogs, cats, and other "companion animals." That's more than five defenseless creatures every day. PETA has a walk-in freezer to store the dead bodies, and contracts with a Virginia Beach company to cremate them.

Not counting the pets PETA spayed and neutered, the group put to death over 90 percent of the animals it took in during the last five years. And its angel-of-death pattern shows no sign of changing.

PETA is too militant. They recently complained about Mike Tyson's show and said that it's promoting abuse against pigeons. icon_eek.gificon_lol.gif

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_Treadwell

Around noon on Sunday, October 5, 2003, Treadwell spoke with an associate in Malibu, California by satellite phone. Treadwell mentioned no problems with any bears. The next day, October 6, Willy Fulton, the Kodiak air taxi pilot arrived at their campsite to pick them up but found the area abandoned except for a bear, and contacted the local park rangers. The mangled remains of Treadwell and Huguenard were discovered quickly upon investigation. Treadwell's disfigured head, partial spine, and right forearm and hand still wearing his wrist watch were recovered a short distance from the camp. Huguenard's partial remains were found next to the torn and collapsed tents, partially buried in a mound of twigs and dirt.

Are you an idiot? What would you have them do with those animals? How does that compare to unethical treatment of living animals and unethical means of killing?

It's the same process of what our Humane Society does. If no one adopts these pets, there's no choice but to put them down. I hate the idea, don't get me wrong, but it's the only thing we can do as there's really nowhere else for them to go. It's a sad fate but not something PETA proudly does. It's a lesser of two evils.

Your source is obviously biased against PETA. It shows that yes, animals are being put down. But why? That is what you should be asking.

PETA has a good cause, in the sense that animals should be treated better. Do I agree with everything they do? No. But for the most part, their hearts are in the right place. There are extremists, of course, that live within PETA. But there are extremists in every organization. Don't let those individuals shadow the good message they are trying to spread.

That story about PETA's "killing spree" is completely bogus. I know people who work there.
They do support animal shelters that euthanize animals who are too sick to be adopted out -- usually due to mistreatment and neglect from f*cktards who have no business having a pet in the first place. The number of idiots who get a dog and chain it up in the backyard and ignore it is really astonishing. (I know it will surprise you to know that they're the same people who aren't taking care of their kids, in many cases.)
Euthanizing sick or unwanted animals obviously sucks, but every animal shelter does it because it's unavoidable. Due to all the jackasses who don't spay or neuter their pets, every day there are tens of thousands of unwanted kittens and puppies born -- way more than can be cared for. If it makes you mad, donate some money to your local animal shelter for spay-neuter services.

    PETA does good work.
Animals deserve better treatment than what we as a society give to them.

To anyone who hasn't seen "Earthlings", I highly recommend it:
