So I am still new here in North Carolina and I was wondering about some of the guys here. There are a lot of hot men who have a cross necklace or cross tatoos; does that mean that there is no chance they're gay or maybe it has no special meaning?
I'm a secular jew so I have no real understanding of you christians icon_biggrin.gif

Honestly I'm still wondering... It's not like they can't be gay, but they probably hold a special part of their religion somewhere... so it's likely some art closeted because of being ashamed.

But yes, they can be openly gay and christian. I've seen it, been with one, didn't care for it. lol

Of course it doesn't mean there is no chance they are gay.

There is no problem with being religious and openly gay and it isn't impossible. It just means those people weren't so quick to throw out their whole belief system when they accepted that they were gay.

If they're screaming "death to fags!" there's a 99.97% chance that they're gay.

Depends on what kind of cross, I where a cross chain, I just forget I have it on until I'm going to bed. Others might see it as a fashion thing, some fraternity guys get them, and some military guys do too (tattoos) could be a number of things

lol another member of the tribe in the triad of north carolina. icon_biggrin.gif I'm a jew in greensboro. Whether they're a yid or a goy..just because someone's religious doesn't mean they're not gay, or even slutty. But then I'm reform and not frum.

darn skippy...NC is not the south. Its an area of its own, cause it sure isn't the north. Ahhh, I miss NC though, sooooo many hot men, great nightlife, etc.

but back to the subject... Its not a southern thing, just mostly fashion statement, but also most get it for some religious reason. They still may be gay, just keep hanging around and you will be able to pick the gay ones out.

Being openly gay and christian is more common than you think. Personally, I think it is important because a great deal of the prejudice we face is based upon a misunderstanding of the Bible by Christians who have been told that God hates us when that is nowhere near what the Bible actually says. (God loves us, very very much as a matter of fact)

Oh, and NC isn't the South. Raleigh has a fantastic gay community with a billion hot guys. It is a fun town!

    Hope this helps :-)

NC is still very much the south. Unfortunately it is being flooded with yankees recently so cities like raleigh and even charlotte are becoming 'northernized'. Likewise, based on the places I've been in Texas, I am also of the opinion that it is not the south (i.e. Dallas)

OP: the culture (esp. the religious component) in the south makes coming out a very difficult and slow process for guys there. finding guys is very difficult if you're not in to the scene (bars), maybe try nascar races for meeting guys?

Texas is not the south?? Need to check your geography man. If we were any more south, we'd be Mexico. icon_lol.gif

Actually, Texas isn't the South... Texas is Texas... like it's own country. In fact, they use to be their own country.

South Carolina tried that a few years ago and it didn't work out so well.

is it a fashion trend for most gay men to have some type of chain or jewelry around their neck?

we do seem to like to "accessorize"......

Texas is a BIG state. Difficult to generalize across the entire state of Texas. Of course, the urban centers like Dallas and Houston are much more culturally diverse than the rural areas. However, even the urban/suburban areas have a distinctly southern culture to them (compared to Northern urban centers like NYC, DC, Philly).

although New Orleans is in the southern part of our great country; it's usually not considered to be the south.

those of ya'll who have spent any time here know this to be true.

    THANK YOU!

And as far as the "which state is considered the south" debate, North Carolina is definitely not the south. Its like how the water boy tries to be part of the football team, it just isn't going to be the south no matter how hard it tries.

And texas is not the south either. Its got its own thing going on.

Of COURSE it has special meaning... JESUS never mentioned SHIT about being homosexual, nor did he even touch upon it as sin... LUST is SIN!!! There's nothing wrong with loving your brothers and accepting the same love back. That is the SPIRIT of Jesus Christ man!!!
