So who's got Dragon Age II yet?

I've played about 6-7 hours so far, still haven't left Kirkwall! I am enjoying it so far but I hope to be moving on to some new areas soon. Also seem to have acquired quite a few party members already!

My main character is a mage and my party is Isabela (Rogue), Anders (Mage) and Fenris (Warrior). I'm definitely up for romancing Anders but (without giving anything away) I don't think he will be jumping into a relationship too quick!

I've just read in reviews that you do end up staying in Kirkwall for the entire game! To me that's a huge negative, I was imagining it was just for the first second then you go off to explore the world.

Maybe in the expansion then... icon_eek.gif

Dragon age 2 is better in every way from the first one. I've played five hours and it's great fun to play. Battles/fights played in Dragon age II is much fast and enjoyable.

Yes I am playing dragon age 2 too! I am really enjoying it; I was kida skeptical about the combat when I played the demo but the game is fun and the new fast-paved feel of combat is a welcome addition. My rogue is pretty awesome.

Haha, yeah me too - I thought for sure he was gay just from his manner, and the way he was a bit coy about sex, I thought it was because he liked men not that he was a virgin!

I'm hoping to get Anders in bed at some point, but not sure where - my Mother is cramping my style too much back at my own gaff! And my brother (Cleaver)!

Lmao I know! He always seemed like he was In the closet and was one day going to open up or something, I thought his character was fun though.

Damn my typing sucks on my iPhone...

I'm getting it soon, but dear Geebus i hope the bedding scenes aren't as awkward and unsexy as the first. They were pretty funny though icon_razz.gif

And yeh i went after Alistair pretty seriously haha, he just needed a bit of alcohol and he'd have been game!

I bought Dragon Age 2 yesterday but I am not that far ahead in the game yet.

I find it fun so far though (after 2 hours of gameplay).

I was going to start up a thread about this. icon_razz.gif
There's one more "gay sex" scene in this game.

God that dialogue was so cheesy...but satisfyingly sweet and sexy!

As for the OP: I played through only a little of the first Dragon Age. I loved everything about it, except that the gameplay seemed too slow and clunky...especially the AI. I've played the Steam Demo for the second game and I'm glad to see the gameplay become a little more faced-paced and streamlined. I'm definitely picking up this title!

I liked Dragon Age I at first, but it was so boringly easy on the highest difficulty that I had to make up handicaps for myself (no mana potions, and an interruptible wait on health potions, just to make it kinda fun).
Plus, except for Alistair and Morrigan none of the characters were very interesting and the plot was mostly pretty canned.

Played the Dragon Age II demo... and... and gymnastic mages doing a baton twirl number while firing their weapons? Really teeny uncomplicated skill tree?
Couldn't work up the interest. The gameplay also seemed even easier if anything. More Diablo style.

Let me know if I'm way off.

Well you don't have to worry about your mother hanging around your house for that long olololol

    ...

Anyway, brother? Both my boyfriend and I experienced our brother dying early in the game, and we get our sis. What decides this?

In either case. I really like the game. I wanna have sex with Fenris and Anders but ffs, Fenris is such a douce. He only gets friendship points when I wanna kill off someone or commit genocide on mages.

Like that one mission where you're supposed to rescue the boymage and I chose "I don't care if you kill the boy or not", I instantly saw: "Fenris, friendship +15". I have to stubbornly hate mages to guts for him to jump his bones.

All in all, the game is great. I didn't play DA:O, but this is awesome awesome. Also did you guys read the retort the headwriter gave to the guy who thought that it was bad having so much potential homosexuality in the game?

If you make Hawke a mage, Bethany gets killed by the ogre instead of Carver, and Carver goes through the game with you.

I'm enjoying the revamped pacing and character interaction more than in DA:O. I just wish the environments weren't so sterile and had some more variety.

Bioware knew they delivered shit with this one. Worst game ever. Huge disappointment.

I thoroughly enjoyed DA2 more than DA:O. The more streamlined combat pacing and actual voice acting for Hawke makes all the difference.

I much preferred seeing one place, Kirkwall, evolve (or devolve, depending on your perspective) over time rather than traveling all over rather than visiting many places that seemed so static a la DA:O. It's almost as if Kirkwall is another character in and of itself.

I just didn't like the cheesy Disney-esque new look for Flemeth, and the very anime-looking redesign they gave the elves.

Oh, and the character banter is still as hilarious as ever!

I just beat DA II this afternoon. I have to say it's one of the games I've enjoyed playing all the way through. The battles are fast and love all the treasure you get. I played as a rogue, which was more fun to me, than a warrior or mage. I have to say it is shorter than I thought it would be, but I've enjoyed the continuing story lines. I ended up with Anders as my partner for life!
