For those of you who remember the iPhone 4 vs HTC Evo cartoon, same characters appear again

    Not impressed.

The famous iPhone v HTC Evo video used largely legitimate claims. It was made by a person who actually worked at Best Buy who encountered the customers firsthand. This presentation starts off with unbelievable testimony, and it doesn't stop. If you are going to make fun of a subject, it's more plausible to present it as it is.

    1. No one believes his tears cure cancer, or thought his breath neutralizes CO2 and will fix global warming. President Obama has not claimed to pay for everyone's mortgage.

    2. Claiming that socializing healthcare will put us in some "shit" like the UK only weakens the position of whoever authored this video.

    3. Michelle Obama's trip to Spain didn't cost the taxpayer millions. The Obamas paid for their trip themselves with the exception of the plane itself and security.

    4. GM has not changed its name to mean Government Motors.

    5. Communists to fill his cabinet? Throwing out words like "communist," "socialist," and "fascist" and hoping it sticks is a pathetic way to win an argument.

    6. President Obama did not insist on the Nobel Prize. It was awarded to him, and he has acknowledged several times that he was undeserving of it.

I can go on and on.

And whereas in the HTC Evo vs. iPhone video where the iPhone lover had honest demands. The portrait of the liberal is strictly from the stereotype some conservatives have of liberals.

Only some conservatives will find this funny. If it had any basis of reality, some liberals would be able to laugh at themselves. But there's nothing remotely true.

    Next.

Of course you're not. I can't imagine anyone would think the statements were intended to be factual, such as tears curing cancer. That critique and some of your others are interesting. BTW - watched your video. Not offensive, but not very funny - no zingers like the one I posted. I'm sure libs have come up with something that is funny.

I was comparing it to the HTC Evo vs. iPhone video. You should rewatch it to see how strong it is because it relied upon a realistic view. Apparently you failed to read where I said that the video you posted started off with and continued with an unrealistic portrait of a liberal. It's not attempting to portray anything of substance.

I was able to comprehend it, thanks. I realized the phone comparison was factual. I was one of the ones who posted it last summer. I was able to comprehend the difference that this one is a characterture of a liberal. For example, I realize all liberals don't spend their days lying in the park, looking at clouds, and smoking pot. But I have met a few who chanted hope and change and had no solid back-up to what they hoped for and what change they wanted.

I forgot to add this claiming the same characters appear against is a gross misrepresentation. Even though in the video they mention the htc evo and iphone conversation, this video is not under the same YouTube account as the one who made the infamous video. Whoever did this video just hijacked the popularity.

hehe. Gross misrepresentation - my words come back to me. I didn't say they were done by the same person. But you never know, it could have been the same person using a different account. Whatever. I really have to chuckle at your complaint that it is not factually accurate because of what you pointed out in your first message plus some other ones, such as needing a teleprompter to know when to fart and blaming Bush for leaking toilets. That wasn't true? Jeez, golly, I thought it was; I did learn something from RJ today. In fact, you've really got me going. I'm writing a letter to the producers of the Flintstones to complain that it is not historically accurate. icon_rolleyes.gif

The point, which you obviously missed, is that your video didn't attempt to highlight a real debate. Just a bunch of nonsensical claims. What was the point? Because if someone is getting a kick out of it, it shows me that they rely on exaggerated portrayals of people who have different political beliefs as the means to feel rest-assured about their own.

    edited to add:

My use of "gross misrepresentation" had nothing to do with your use of the term. I don't even know you used it. I just thought it applied.

Actually, Socal, I thought it something more fitting to post on consevativejock.com or whatever it is. You know there are a lot of liberals on here; several conservatives on here lament the fact constantly, so we believe them. Now can you say you honestly thought they'd (libearl minded) think the vid you posted warm n friendly? icon_wink.gif

Actually this is quite tame compared to what is posted away from RJ. There is another thread currently active, that is snide and makes gross generalizations about non-liberals. I could care less about the OP, but I noticed that although a few liberals stated it was in poor taste, many jumped into the feeding frenzy. That included some I thought would be above it. I have also seen a pattern of more liberals taking extreme and often nasty swipes at non-liberals. This little bit of humor is a response to that.

    LOL!
There's not even a "little bit of humor" in the BS you posted.
It's bogus stereotyping and right-wing hate - packaged as a "joke".
It also reveals what you think is funny, and doesn't paint a flattering picture of you at all.

Socal, just as there are SBs there are (by the simple obviousness of an action causing a reaction) those that will counter him (them), in the same manner he provokes them. Conversely, the topics they start are in turn countered in similar intensity by the SBs. This is pretty elementary. Whether or not to join in and be as polarized is telling about ourselves.

I've seen reaction to it being posted in more than one place outside of RJ. From my observation, it is humorous to a broad segment of the public, except for the hard left, where many of you happily reside.

You're right. To me it wasn't funny. It was a pathetic cheap shot that relied on Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh-type observations of what liberals are like. I don't find either of those men one bit humorous.

I happen to find the video I posted funny because the claims made by the tea partier cartoon character realistically portrays the sentiments of some tea party activists. There is some weight to is. Contrast that to the video you posted where there is no weight. Just shallowness.
