    Which 1 can you recommend?
I just want a basic 1 that tells the time maybe gives me calories burned and gives me my heart rate without constant beeping if i go over a preset heart rate

I've been happy with the FT40, it would meet your needs. Stay away from the FT80, lots of bells and whistles, but very buggy. Polar has a good online forum, you should check it out.

I bought an FS3...I like it, but going forward would only puchase models where I can change the batteries...The one I have must be sent to them (now on my 3rd battery replacement)

I have a simple Nike Triax heart rate monitor w/ timer. It's nice and simple, and it doesn't beep. I had more complex monitors (Polar among them), but I found that the more functions, the less I liked wearing them. Polar has a lot of models to choose from, though, so there's sure to be something suitable to your needs.

I personally would not get a calories burned feature. I don't think that's a very produtive measurement.
