I'm thinking of buying a 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5 S for around $5,500 with around 100-115k miles on it. Are these decent or should I stay away? I'm only 20, and I just want a reliable car that I don't have to pay for monthly and won't cost me a fortune to repair.

Uhh I say it is a good deal if you can get it down to 5 grand. Nissan Altima is a pretty reliable car and alright on gas efficiency. Though I think you can get a better deal at a police car impound auction. Try to find maybe a honda accord or civic or toyota camry if you want something more reliable mileage wise and gas efficient wise. You probably can get a 1998-2000 model one of one of those cars for less than 4 grand with a 100,000 miles on it.
I have an accord with 220,000 miles plus on it and its a 1998 and I paid 2 grand for it and it is still running like new. (bought it at 140,000 miles)

    Dear Cowboycasanov,

Hello Buying a used car will give some problems in the long run if you get a car with HIGH Miles like 100,000+! Get a car with 10,000 to 75,000 miles and don't get a cheap base model like a Nissan Altima 2.5 S. Get a Alitma SL or SE or Spec R either coupe or sedan.

If I was you, get a Honda Civic,Kia,Hyundai,Mazda,Mini,Mitsubishi, Scion, Subaru,Suzuki, VW or Any of Toyota models!

Try to VOLD ALL amercian auto maker. You spend more to fix them then over sea models!!!!

2010 Nissan Juke SL with 15,000 miles on it with 4wd if new will cost you at lease $22,000 but he got it for much less. He got it for a nice $12,000

2009 Nissan Cube 1.8 S with Krom Edition (supper charger model) with only 35,000 miles, Front wheel drive. If you had it new, It will cost you $20,000. She got it used for $8,000.

2000 Infiniti (Nissan big brother) I30 Touring with 150,000 and he got it for supper cheap $2,500 HOWEVER he calls it a LEMON! He droped over $15,000 into it in which I found it DUMB!

    I hope I help you!

    Those are reliable cars ....
But i would check the service records and have a mechanics look at it , so you know what you are getting into .....
